Job summary

QL Kitchen Sdn Bhd is seeking an Engineering Executive (Manufacturing Support) to perform and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance on production machinery. You will troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic faults and coordinate with external vendors when needed.

You will drive improvements for machinery reliability and ensure compliance with GMP, hygiene and food safety in a food manufacturing environment, while maintaining accurate maintenance records and spare parts inventory.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in engineering (Mechanical/Mechatronics/Electrical & Electronic/Manufacturing).
• Good knowledge of industrial production machinery maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems used in manufacturing equipment.
• Understanding of preventive and corrective maintenance principles.
• Basic knowledge of PLC and automation systems for machinery troubleshooting will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Perform and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance for production machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and other machinery-related faults and coordinate with vendors as needed.
• Provide hands-on engineering support to Production during machinery breakdowns and operational issues.
• Identify recurring defects and opportunities for improvement, and support machinery modification and testing.
• Ensure maintenance activities and records are completed according to schedule and comply with GMP, hygiene and food safety requirements.

Job description

Engineering Executive (Manufacturing Support)

Perform and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance for production machinery and equipment.

Conduct routine inspections, identify abnormalities and take proactive action to prevent equipment failures.

Ensure maintenance activities and records are completed according to schedule.

Machinery Troubleshooting & Repair

Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and other machinery-related faults.

Carry out repairs and coordinate with external vendors or specialists when required.

Investigate recurring equipment issues and implement appropriate corrective actions.

Production & Breakdown Support

Provide hands-on engineering support to Production during machinery breakdowns and operational issues.

Respond promptly to equipment failures and work closely with Production to minimise downtime and disruption.

Follow through on machinery issues until satisfactory closure.

Machinery Improvement & Optimisation

Identify recurring defects, equipment inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.

Support machinery modification, upgrading, installation, testing and commissioning.

Participate in improvement projects to enhance machinery reliability, performance and maintainability.

Engineering Safety, Food Safety & Compliance

Ensure all maintenance and repair activities are carried out safely and without compromising product safety or hygiene.

Comply with engineering safety requirements, GMP, food safety and hygiene practices applicable to production areas.

Ensure proper housekeeping and machine condition after maintenance work.

Maintenance Records, Spare Parts & Vendor Coordination

Maintain accurate machinery history, maintenance records and technical documentation.

Monitor critical spare parts and support maintenance inventory control.

Liaise with machinery suppliers and service contractors for servicing, repairs and technical support.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or other relevant engineering discipline.

Good knowledge of industrial production machinery maintenance and troubleshooting.

Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems used in manufacturing equipment.

Understanding of preventive and corrective maintenance principles.

Basic knowledge of PLC and automation systems for machinery troubleshooting will be an added advantage.

Able to read and understand machinery drawings, technical manuals and equipment specifications.

Understanding of machinery installation, testing and commissioning.

Knowledge of machinery safety and safe maintenance practices.

Understanding of GMP, hygiene and food safety requirements within a food manufacturing environment.

Knowledge of spare parts and maintenance inventory control will be an advantage.
