Job summary

Genting Malaysia Berhad is seeking an Engineering Building Assistant Tradesman 1 to support the engineering maintenance team at Genting Highlands. The role involves basic maintenance, civil repairs, and assisting in technical works to keep buildings safe and functional.

Responsibilities include routine maintenance, inspection, defect reporting, safety compliance, and documentation. You will support HVAC, electrical, and plumbing tasks and assist in project or upgrading works as needed.

Position Overview

The Engineering Building Assistant Tradesman supports the engineering maintenance team to ensure all building systems, structures, and facilities are in good and safe condition.

This role will carry out basic maintenance works, minor civil repairs, assist technical works, and help maintain a safe, clean, and functional environment for operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Basic Maintenance

• Perform routine maintenance such as:
• Changing light bulbs
• Replacing air filters
• Cleaning equipment, tools, and work areas

2. Civil & Building Maintenance

• Carry out basic civil repair works, including:
• Minor patching of walls (cracks, holes)
• Painting and touch-up works
• Basic tiling repairs
• Floor and joint repairs
• Door, lock, and window adjustments
• Assist in upkeep of:
• Building structure (walls, ceilings, floors)
• Drainage systems and external areas
• Carpark and public facility areas
• Ensure general good housekeeping of building condition

3. Assist Technical Repair Works

• Support technicians and tradesmen in:
• HVAC systems
• Electrical works
• Plumbing systems
• Assist in installation, troubleshooting, and repair works

4. Inspection & Defect Reporting

• Assist in routine inspection of:
• Building condition (civil defects)
• Equipment and systems
• Identify and report:
• Cracks, leaks, damages, unsafe conditions
• Highlight issues early to prevent major breakdown

5. Safety Compliance

• Follow all safety rules, SOP, and permit requirements
• Use proper PPE at all times
• Practice safe working when handling tools, working at height, or confined space

6. Documentation

• Assist in recording:
• Maintenance activities
• Repair works done
• Defects found
• Ensure proper update to supervisor

7. General & Operational Support

• Support engineering team during:
• Preventive maintenance
• Breakdown works
• Project or upgrading works
• Carry out ad-hoc duties as assigned by supervisor
