Job summary

Tanaka Electronics (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an EHS leader to oversee the implementation of environmental, health, and safety practices across the manufacturing site.

You will ensure regulatory compliance and foster a proactive safety culture while supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The role requires a degree with at least five years in related work, preferably in manufacturing, and a strong knowledge of ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018.

Qualifications

• Degree with 5 years of related work experience.
• Manufacturing industry experience preferred.
• Knowledge of ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 and local regulatory requirements.
• Strong communication to convey safety protocols to all levels.
• Experience in developing and maintaining EHS programs and SOPs.
• Ability to conduct inspections, audits, and incident investigations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee implementation of EHS practices and continuous improvement within the organization.
• Assist the EHS Committee in organizing workplace EHS programs.
• Act as RBA liaison, supporting system oversight and customer inquiries.
• Converge Quality Management, Environmental Management, and Occupational Health & Safety practices in daily operations.

Job description

To oversee the implementation of EHS practices, ensuring regulatory compliance, workplace safety, and continuous improvement within the organization.

Qualifications & Skills

Education: Degree with 5 years of related work experience.

Experience: Preferably have working experience in the manufacturing industries.

Knowledge: Ensure compliance with ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 standards, as well as relevant local regulatory requirements.

Communication Skills: Convey safety protocols and regulatory requirements clearly to all levels.

Interpersonal Skills: Collaborate with teams to foster a proactive safety culture.

Project Management: Manage implementation of safety systems and EHS initiatives.

Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Identify hazards, assess risks, and develop safety solutions.

Technical Skills: Knowledge of industrial processes, safety audits, environmental regulations, and risk assessment.

Attention to Detail: Ensure compliance with safety standards and monitor safety effectiveness.

Hazard Identification & Risk Management: Assess EHS hazards and implement risk mitigation strategies.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal EHS regulations, including OSHA and environmental laws.

Program Development: Develop and maintain EHS programs, SOPs, and safety management systems.

Inspections & Audits: Conduct site inspections, audits, and incident investigations to ensure compliance.

Training & Education: Deliver EHS training to promote safe practices and regulatory awareness.

Incident Investigation & Reporting: Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.

Emergency Response Planning: Develop and coordinate emergency preparedness and response plans.

Collaboration & Communication: Work with internal teams and external parties to promote safety and environmental responsibility.

Support internal company activities as assigned by management.

Assist the EHS Committee in organizing and implementing workplace EHS programs.

Act as RBA liaison, supporting system oversight, customer inquiries, and administrative tasks.
