Job summary

COSMOS PERSONAL CARE (MALAYSIA) SDN. BHD. is seeking a Safety Officer to develop and enforce safety policies, manage risk assessments, and ensure regulatory compliance. The role emphasizes training, documentation, and coordinating with other departments to embed safety in daily operations.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least 3 years in safety, preferably in chemical manufacturing, with knowledge of OSHA, EQA, and FMA frameworks. Competitive benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environment/Health/Safety or Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering.
• Registered SHO/Greenbook with DOSH is an advantage.
• Minimum 3 years in a safety-related role, preferably in chemical manufacturing.
• Understand OSHA1994, EQA1974, and FMA1967; capable of risk assessments (HIRARC) and safety briefings.
• Familiar with safety signage, chemical labeling (SDS), and permit-to-work systems; SHO/Greenbook is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage safety policies and programs including risk assessments and audits.
• Develop, implement and maintain safety programs and procedures in compliance with regulations.
• Ensure OSHA and related standards compliance; maintain documentation on safety compliance and training.
• Ensure PPE and safety equipment are available, maintained, and used correctly; recommend improvements.
• Develop and implement emergency response plans; conduct drills and trainings for readiness.
• Collaborate with other departments to integrate safety into daily operations; serve as safety contact.
• Other tasks assigned by the superior.

Key Responsibilities:

• 1.Responsiblefordeveloping,implementing,andmanagingsafetypoliciesandprogramssuchasincludesassessingrisks,conductingsafetyaudits,andofferingguidanceonsafetypracticestomaintainasafeandcompliantworkenvironment.
• 2.Develop,implement,andmaintainsafetyprogramsandproceduresincompliancewithlocal,state,andfederalregulations.
• 3.EnsurecompliancewithOSHAregulationsandotherrelevantsafetystandards,andprepareandmaintaindocumentationrelatedtosafetycomplianceandtraining.
• 4.Ensurethatallsafetyequipmentandpersonalprotectiveequipment(PPE)areavailable,properlymaintained,andusedcorrectly,andrecommendimprovementsoradditionstosafetyequipmentasnecessary.
• 5.Developandimplementemergencyresponseplansandprocedures,conductingregulardrillsandtrainingtoensurereadinessforemergencies.
• 6.Collaboratecloselywithotherdepartmentstointegratesafetypracticesintodailyoperationsandserveasthepointofcontactforsafety-relatedissuesandconcerns.

Job Qualifications:

• 1.Bachelor'sdegreeinEnvironment/Health/SafetyorEnvironmentalScienceorEnvironmentalEngineering
