Job summary

Sibelco Malaysia is seeking a Process Engineer to drive projects from ideation through to operational ramp-up. You will evaluate daily production, support planning, and lead trials to optimize efficiency while upholding quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities include design, audits, SOP writing, and knowledge sharing with stakeholders to ensure scalable, cost-effective operations.

Qualifications

• Experience driving process engineering projects from idea to operational ramp-up.
• Ability to evaluate daily production and product quality against KPIs.
• Knowledge of process design, audits and cost-saving initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Drive process engineering projects from concept to commissioning.
• Lead trials and develop process flow diagrams using simulation tools.
• Support production planning and equipment efficiency improvements.
• Provide input on specifications and prioritise with internal customers.
• Write SOPs and ensure quality control throughout project delivery.
• Promote operational excellence, HS campaigns and safety compliance.
• Share knowledge and best practices with project stakeholders.

Drive Process Engineering projects from idea to operational ramp up.

Evaluate day to day production and product Quality. Ensure Production KPIare meet the set target

Support Production team lead to planned production and review equipmentefficiency.

Provide input and suggestions Initiate ideas and set priorities together withthe internal customer

Support with maintenance dust reduction and HS campaigns

Define specifications and estimate process parameters to enable the mostsuitable Project Delivery Model

Lead production trials and use specific simulation software to develop theblock flow diagrams and process flow sheet

Initiate the Production & energy cost saving projects

Support Project Planning and Execution

Participate in project commissioning by assisting and training the operatorsand successfully transfer the project to Operations

Write manuals and instructions on process SOP.

Ensure Quality Control all along the project delivery

Process Design

Design new, innovative minerals and materials processes and adapt existing onesto improve efficiency, safety, sustainability and cost efficiency.

Process Audit

Involve in all the audits on specific need basis, in accordance with the Sibelco Process Audit Guidelines

Support

Support Sibelco production team to promote operational excellence and provide technical best practices and to ensure safe (HSE-compliant), efficient, effective, innovative, scalable and sustainable operations.

Support in case of production issues or customer complaints

Involve and lead on how to maximize the efficiency of existing installations by suggesting improvements and debottlenecking. For example:

Production: Improve Production output with minimal wastages

Maintenance: Work as peer with maintenance team to reduce breakdown and implement improvement projects.

Health & Safety: assist in HS campaigns throughout OPS

Quality: Collaborate in with QC team to improve products for Development.

Lean Practise: Lead in enforcing lean practice to improve and sustain plant efficiency.

Research and develop new ideas or solutions that contribute to create plants and systems in a cost-effective and efficient way.

Stay up to date with new process engineering technologies and innovation in the industry

Participate in project review to implement lessons learned in following phases/projects

Knowledge Management

Share knowledge and good practices with peers and project stakeholders by proper reporting in the relevant system

Project Team Management

Ensure the right connection between internal Project stakeholders for minor projects.
