Job summary

Amkor Technology Malaysia seeks an Engineer, Industrial Engineering (Capacity Planning) to lead capacity planning, line balancing and utilization improvements across manufacturing areas. You will analyze capacity, run simulations for ramp-ups and support strategic planning with cross-functional teams.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering and at least 3 years in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Industrial/Manufacturing/Mechanical/Electronics or equivalent).
• 3+ years in a fast-paced manufacturing environment preferred.
• Experience in Capacity Planning, Production Planning or Manufacturing Excellence.
• Knowledge of Capacity Planning, Manpower Planning, Utilization Analysis and Line Balancing methods.
• Proficiency in MS Office; data analysis and reporting tools a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform capacity planning, capacity studies, line balancing and resource optimization.

Job description

Engineer, Industrial Engineering (Capacity Planning)

Perform capacity planning, capacity studies, line balancing, and resource optimization to support business growth and operational requirements.

Analyze manufacturing capacity and conduct simulation studies for ramp-up projects, new product introductions (NPI), and strategic planning activities.

Lead equipment and manufacturing utilization improvement initiatives to maximize productivity and operational efficiency.

Monitor and improve Final Test capacity performance, including the development and automation of capacity and performance reporting.

Ensure the accuracy and integrity of site operational data, planning databases, and manufacturing metrics.

Collaborate closely with Production, Engineering, R&D, and Finance teams on equipment planning, capacity forecasting, and capital investment strategies.

Support financial planning activities through capacity modeling, cost analysis, and resource optimization initiatives.

Analyze and maintain manufacturing cost structures to identify potential financial and business risks, and recommend mitigation plans.

Develop reliable cost models and simulations using operational and financial data to support business decision-making and investment justification.

Conduct facility and production layout planning studies to improve workflow efficiency, space utilization, and manufacturing effectiveness.

Perform in-depth business unit analysis and identify opportunities for productivity improvement, cost reduction, capacity expansion, and operational excellence.

Drive continuous improvement projects focusing on cycle time reduction, cost optimization, productivity enhancement, and resource utilization.

Job Requirements

Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Industrial / Manufacturing / Mechanical / Electronics or equivalent.

At least 3 years of working experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Experience in Industrial Engineering, Capacity Planning, Production Planning, or Manufacturing Excellence is preferred.

Knowledge of Capacity Planning, Manpower Planning, Utilization Analysis, Line Balancing, and Industrial Engineering improvement methodologies.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with data analysis and reporting tools will be an added advantage.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.

Ability to analyze operational data and support capacity modeling, productivity improvement, and cost optimization initiatives.

Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
