Job summary

Gas Malaysia Distribution Sdn Bhd is seeking a Controls Analyst to analyse, validate and monitor gas network operational data, including gas offtake, quality, pressure and flow, to identify abnormal trends and support informed decision-making. The role also handles departmental reporting, budget and expense monitoring, data management, and coordination to ensure efficient operations.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Engineering, Chemical or Electrical, and at least 3 years' experience

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of working experience in the engineering and construction environment especially in oil and gas industry.
  • Knowledge and skills in the operations and maintenance of gas distribution system and its facilities and project management.
  • Good leadership, planning and communication skills.
  • Understand the gas industry in general and specifically the technical aspect of it.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse, validate and monitor gas network operational data to identify abnormal trends and support operational decision-making.
  • Manage, prepare and coordinate relevant departmental reports and KPI reports to ensure accurate reporting of performance and trends.
  • Manage, verify and coordinate data from systems into the accounting/data platforms to ensure data availability and integrity for monitoring and reporting.
  • Monitor and track the department's budget and expenses, including expenditure forecasting and budget utilisation for cost control.
  • Coordinate SOPs, standards and work practices to ensure updated and compliant procedures.
  • Monitor departmental Purchase Requisitions (PRs) and coordinate project-related activities with internal and external parties.

Job description

Responsible for analysing, validating and monitoring gas network operational data, including gas offtake, gas quality, pressure, flow and other relevant operational parameters, to identify abnormal trends, support operational performance monitoring and facilitate informed operational decision-making. The role also supports departmental reporting, budget and expenditure monitoring, data management, compliance and other administrative and operational coordination activities to ensure effective management and continuity of departmental operations.

Key responsibilities:
GAS CONTROL & OPERATIONAL DATA ANALYSIS

Analyse, validate and monitor gas network operational data, including gas offtake, gas quality, pressure, flow and other relevant operational parameters, in order to identify abnormal trends, support operational decision-making and enhance the reliability and efficiency of NGDS operations.

DEPARTMENTAL REPORTING & SPECIAL TASKS

Manage, prepare and coordinate relevant departmental reports, including management committee reports, management review reports, KPI reports, EC reports and other required reports, as well as coordinate departmental special tasks to ensure accurate, timely and effective reporting of departmental performance, issues and operational trends.

METERING DATA AVAILABILITY

Manage, verify and coordinate data from EVC/EFM/Data Logger into JDE system or other relevant system in order to ensure metering data availability, accuracy and integrity for operational monitoring, analysis and reporting.

Monitor and track the Gas Distribution Management Department's budget and expenses, including expenditure forecasting and budget utilisation, in order to ensure effective cost control and optimum allocation of resources for the smooth implementation of departmental activities.

STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES, STANDARDS & COMPLIANCE

Manage, verify and coordinate relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), standards and work practices for departmental and gas control activities to ensure proper, updated and standardised practices, as well as compliance with applicable standards, procedures and regulatory requirements.

DEPARTMENTAL COORDINATION & OPERATIONAL SUPPORT

Monitor and coordinate the progress of departmental Purchase Requisitions (PRs) raised by the relevant sections, ensuring timely processing, follow-up and closure. Coordinate project-related activities, contract matters, physical verification exercises and other administrative or operational requirements with relevant internal and external parties to ensure effective implementation, compliance and timely completion of departmental activities.

Qualification

Degree in Engineering, Chemical or Electrical or related.

Minimum 3 years of working experience in the engineering and construction environment especially in oil and gas industry.

Knowledge and skills in the operations and maintenance of gas distribution system and its facilities and project management.

Good leadership, planning and communication skills.

Understand the gas industry in general and specifically the technical aspect of it.
