Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Biotechnology, Renewable Energy, Finance, Business, or related disciplines.
• Internship experience in Oil & Gas, Biogas, Renewable Energy, Palm Oil, Waste Management, or related industries is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with biogas suppliers to ensure a consistent and reliable supply of feedstock.
• Lead negotiations with biogas suppliers to secure favourable terms and conditions, including pricing, volume commitments, quality standards, and delivery schedules.
• Conduct commercial evaluations, financial modelling, business case analyses, and feasibility assessments for biogas sourcing initiatives and Green Gas Projects.
• Assess and mitigate risks associated with biogas sourcing activities to ensure business continuity.
• Stay informed of regulations, policies, and industry standards related to biogas production and procurement.
• Monitor market trends, technological developments, and the competitive landscape within the biogas industry for strategic decisions.
• Identify opportunities to optimize biogas supply chain processes and reduce costs while improving environmental outcomes.
• Engage with authorities, government agencies, funding institutions, and external stakeholders to promote biomethane and secure incentives.
• Establish and conduct training programmes for operational personnel on biomethane facilities.

Job description

Develop and implement strategic plans for sourcing biogas feedstock to meet organizational objectives, considering factors such as cost, quality, availability, sustainability, commercial viability, and long-term value creation.

Key responsibilities

Build and maintain relationships with biogas suppliers, including farmers, waste management companies, technology providers, and biogas plant operators, to ensure a consistent and reliable supply of feedstock

Lead negotiations with biogas suppliers to secure favourable terms and conditions, including pricing, volume commitments, quality standards, technical aspects, and delivery schedules, while optimizing commercial outcomes

Conduct commercial evaluations, financial modelling, business case analyses, and economic feasibility assessments for biogas sourcing initiatives, strategic partnerships, and Green Gas Projects to support investment and business decisions

Assess and mitigate risks associated with biogas sourcing activities, including supply chain disruptions, regulatory changes, market fluctuations, commercial risks, and quality issues to ensure business continuity

Stay informed of relevant regulations, policies, and industry standards related to biogas production and procurement, ensuring compliance and advocating favourable policies where applicable

Monitor market trends, technological developments, and the competitive landscape within the biogas industry, and provide commercial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making and business growth

Identify opportunities to optimize biogas supply chain processes, improve efficiency, reduce costs, enhance commercial returns, and minimize environmental impact through innovation and best practices

Engage with authorities, government agencies, funding institutions, and external stakeholders to promote biomethane initiatives, secure Government incentives, explore Green Gas Project funding opportunities, and support commercial development activities

Establish and conduct training programmes for operational personnel on the operation and maintenance of the Centralized Biomethane Injection Station and Biomethane Upgrading Plant, ensuring adequate competency, knowledge, and operational effectiveness

Requirements

Education & Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Biotechnology, Renewable Energy, Finance, Business, or related disciplines.

Internship experience in the Oil & Gas, Biogas, Renewable Energy, Palm Oil, Waste Management, or related industries will be an added advantage.

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of biogas production processes, including anaerobic digestion and biomethane generation.

Basic understanding of biogas plant operations and maintenance.

Ability to conduct market research, data gathering, and commercial analysis.

Ability to prepare business proposals, presentations, and technical-commercial reports.

Basic knowledge of financial modelling, business case development, and feasibility analysis.

Good negotiation and stakeholder management skills.

Understanding of project management principles and project execution processes.

Familiarity with safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
