Job summary

Hartalega Holdings Berhad in Sepang, Malaysia, is seeking a Maintenance Specialist to manage utility assets (Chiller, Air compressor, Wastewater Treatment and Scrubber) and oversee energy consumption. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical or engineering discipline.
• 1 year of work experience in a related field or fresh graduate.
• Mechanical and electrical knowledge required.
• Experience in large-scale water treatment is an advantage.
• Chiller and air compressor maintenance experience is an advantage.
• CePlETSO certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and guide maintenance for NGC Utility, WTP, and Scrubber systems.
• Manage electrical and mechanical maintenance to meet DOE and Hartalega standards.
• Plan and execute annual maintenance to minimize downtime and meet schedules.
• Conduct daily PMC meetings and report findings to PMC Chair.
• Coach and discipline subordinates to improve efficiency and PM practices.
• Troubleshoot machinery and determine repair needs, manage waste disposal.
• Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and government officers for audits and projects.
• Control budget, prepare annual budgets with reviews to hit KPI and OEE targets.
• Maintain ISO compliance with checklists, service reports, and commissioning records.
• Drive continuous improvement and safe work practices, including LOTO.

Job Description

Job Purpose

Manage the respective utility assets which include Chiller, Air compressor, Wastewater Treatment and Scrubber.

Manage the factory energy consumption.

Provide coaching and develop subordinates in respective assigned assets.

Responsibilities

1. 1. Monitor and guide all operations, breakdown maintenance, preventive maintenance, and improvement projects for NGC Utility, WTP, and Scrubber systems.
2. 2. Manage electrical and mechanical maintenance with the Senior Engineer and Manager, ensuring compliance of WTP discharge and Scrubber emissions with DOE and Hartalega standards.
3. 3. Lead the team in planning and executing annual maintenance work, minimizing downtime and completing tasks on schedule.
4. 4. Conduct daily PMC meetings, follow up on team issues, and report findings to the PMC Chairman.
5. 5. Train, coach, and discipline subordinates to improve efficiency, quality, and preventive maintenance practices while fostering teamwork and motivation.
6. 6. Troubleshoot machinery, determine repair or modification needs, and ensure proper segregation and disposal of damaged items.
7. 7. Liaise with contractors, suppliers, other departments, and government officers for audits, projects, modifications, and cross-departmental activities.
8. 8. Control expenditure within budget, prepare annual budgets with quarterly reviews, and support initiatives to achieve KPI and OEE targets.
9. 9. Maintain compliance with ISO requirements by completing and documenting checklists, service reports, and commissioning records.
10. 10.Drive innovation, continuous improvement, safe work practices (including LOTO), and standardization of processes, including technical development and optimization of former holder refurbishment and welding processes, while ensuring adherence to company rules and policies.

Qualification and Experience

1. 1. Bachelor's Degree in Chemical or any Engineering field.
2. 2. Minimum 1 year of working experience in a related field, or fresh graduate in a relevant discipline.
3. 3. Mechanical and Electrical knowledge.
4. 4. Experience in large-scale water treatment with physical and biological treatment (advantage).
5. 5. Experience in chiller, air compressor maintenance, and systemic maintenance (advantage).
6. 6. Certification in CePlETSO (advantage).
