Port of Tanjung Pelepas seeks an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to support the Assistant Manager in managing corrective, preventive, and CAPEX electrical projects, ensuring high reliability of the electrical system.

You will maintain electrical installations, prepare maintenance work packages, plan HV/MV/LV maintenance, and coordinate with stakeholders to obtain windows and approvals. Strong planning, communication, and regulatory compliance are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of working experience in electrical.
• Good organizational and planning skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficient in MS Office applications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in English and Malay.
• Able to work in a team and independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Maintain electrical installations in good condition and functioning.

Job Description

• To maintain all electrical installation in good condition and proper functioning.
• To prepare work packages (manpower, spare parts & consumables and tools) for every planned maintenance activity inclusive of corrective maintenance.
• To plan, arrange & summaries maintenance activities related with HV / MV / LV / E-Block equipment maintenance to enhance equipment and plant accessibility and competence supporting site.
• To coordinate with stakeholders (Engineering / Operation / Service Provider) pertaining to HV / MV / LV / E-Block maintenance activities to obtain windows.
• To develop business case and other comprehensive documentation to support decision-making for projects or initiatives.
• To conduct thorough research to outline potential benefits, risks, costs and expected outcomes of a proposed project.
• Collecting, analysing, and presenting data related to organization's energy consumption and sustainability efforts.
• To coordinate plan shutdown to attain all essential schedules.
• To adhere to the planned maintenance activities according to the timeline.
• To ensure the maintenance works carried out by the service providers are done according to the best engineering practice and agreed quality standards.
• Responsible and attend to on-call duty, major breakdown or emergency promptly.
• To ensure safety standards are complied with throughout the department.
• Shall ensure all work complied with all local legislation such as Electricity Supply Act 1990, Electricity Regulations 1994, Efficient Management of Electrical Energy Regulation (EMEER 2008), OSHA, FMA, and PTP requirements.
• To record and report all findings on unsafe systems and non-conformance of these act/ regulation to superior.
• Responsible on duties as stated in Local Legislation such as Electricity Supply Act 1990 and Electricity Regulation 1994
• To ensure all the maintenance checklist has been checked and verified by the execution team.
• To coordinate meetings with other teams (HV / MV Network and LV & Others System) related to the maintenance issues or any issue arising.
• To coordinate and assist the appointed Energy Manager related to the Energy Management System inclusive submission report to Suruhanjaya Tenaga.
• To analyze weekly and monthly performance summary report.
• To evaluate, analyze and submit summary of proposals of corrective maintenance action and services needed.
• To evaluate, analyze and prepare the electricity consumption and power quality of electrical network for the whole port (including Free Zone tenants)
• To prepare BQ for maintenance work / upgrading / enhancement electrical work. Study, highlight and resolve any discrepancies of drawings BQ & specifications.
• To perform any other duties as directed by the superior from time to time.
• Responsible for the implementation of Information Security (IS) and IT Policies that reflect the organization's needs with regard to the protection of information and assets and the integrity and privacy of the organization's intellectual property.

REQUIREMENT

• Possess a minimum Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• A minimum of 3 years' experience of working experience in Electrical. Good knowledge in design/Project management & familiar with tendering process will be an advantage.
• Possess good organizational and planning skills.
• Possess a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
• Possess the capability in record keeping and excellent in MS Office applications.
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability and confidence to develop and present to senior audiences in English and Malay
• Able to work in a team and able to coordinate people.
• Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
