Job summary

DQP ENGINEERING AND TRADING SDN BHD is seeking an Engineer Assistant to join the civil and structural engineering team based in Miri, Sarawak. You will support the design, planning and execution of civil and structural projects, gaining practical experience under seasoned professionals.

You will assist with site surveys, CAD drawings, material testing and project documentation, while coordinating with contractors and clients and ensuring safety compliance on site.

Qualifications

• A degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or related field
• Proficiency with CAD software and engineering design tools
• Understanding of civil and structural engineering principles and building codes
• Ability to produce accurate technical drawings and documentation
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills to support designs
• Good communication and teamwork abilities
• Willingness to work on site and in the field as required for project support
• Knowledge of Malaysian building regulations is advantageous
• Proactive approach to learning and professional development

Responsibilities

• Assisting senior engineers with site surveys, measurements and data collection for civil and structural projects
• Preparing technical drawings, plans and specifications using CAD software and engineering tools
• Conducting material testing and quality assurance checks on construction sites
• Supporting the development of project proposals, tender documents and technical reports
• Assisting with site inspections and monitoring construction progress against approved designs and specifications
• Maintaining accurate project documentation and maintaining organised filing systems for technical records
• Supporting calculations and analysis for structural designs, foundations and load-bearing elements
• Liaising with contractors, clients and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project coordination
• Adhering to health and safety regulations and assisting in maintaining safe working practices on site

About the role
