Job summary

Responsibilities

• Lead and support engineering design and implementation of SCADA and railway systems.

• Prepare, review and quality-check technical deliverables and calculations.
• Manage RFIs, TQs and site change requests to resolve design issues.
• Implement changes to basic and detailed designs per project requirements.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced and motivated SCADA / Interface Engineer to support the engineering, design, integration and project delivery of railway systems for the KUTS Project. The position will primarily support SCADA and railway systems engineering, while candidates with a background in Electrical Engineering, Railway Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related engineering disciplines with relevant interface, design, coordination or project experience are also encouraged to apply.

Key responsibilities

Lead and support the Engineering Manager and Senior Design & Engineering Manager in the development, review and implementation of SCADA and railway engineering designs.

Coordinate and support engineering activities involving SCADA, electrical systems, railway systems and multidisciplinary interfaces.

Review engineering designs, drawings and technical documents to ensure compliance with project specifications, applicable standards and requirements.

Prepare, review and quality-check engineering drawings, calculations, reports, specifications and other technical deliverables.

Establish and maintain engineering document and drawing standards using approved project templates and procedures.

Ensure detailed design activities comply with relevant technical, professional, contractual and company standards.

Coordinate with other engineering disciplines including civil, electrical, systems, signalling, telecommunications, M&E and railway systems where applicable.

Identify and manage technical interfaces between different systems, disciplines, contractors and project stakeholders.

Raise and follow up Requests for Information (RFI), Technical Queries (TQ), Site Change Requests and other technical matters to resolve design and site issues.

Implement and monitor changes to basic and detailed engineering designs in accordance with project requirements.

Requirements

Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Railway Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechatronics, or other relevant engineering disciplines.

Relevant experience in SCADA, railway systems, electrical engineering, systems integration, interface engineering, design engineering or railway projects.

Familiarity with engineering drawings, technical specifications, design documentation and project standards.

Experience with railway, MRT, LRT, automated people mover, transportation infrastructure or other large-scale infrastructure projects.

Able to communicate and coordinate effectively with internal teams, consultants, contractors and project stakeholders.

Good analytical, problem-solving and technical documentation skills.

Willing to be based in Sarawak for the KUTS Project.
