Job summary

Sapphire Stream Technology Sdn. Bhd. in Penang is seeking an embedded software engineer to design and develop new products and software features for two-way radios, participating in the full SDLC.

You will write clean C/C++ code for embedded systems, perform design and code reviews, develop tests, and collaborate with hardware and test engineers.

Applicants should have a degree and 2–7 years of experience, with familiarity in RTOS, BSP, device drivers, and Agile methods as a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronic/Telecommunications/Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
• 2–7 years of software development experience (fresh graduates welcome).
• Proficiency in C/C++ programming and solid OOP understanding.
• Understanding of microcontroller operation in embedded systems.
• Experience with board bring-up, BSP, device drivers, bootloader, device tree, memory management, SPI, I2C, UART, toolchains, compilers and hardware-software integration.
• Hands-on experience with RTOS and embedded software development; familiarity with AI-based coding tools (e.g., CoPilot).
• Knowledge of LTE/DMR specifications is advantageous; familiarity with Agile/Scrum is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new products and software features for two-way radios.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Analyze requirements for feasibility, considering quality, performance, time and budget.
• Collaborate with front-end architects, hardware, test engineers and stakeholders.
• Write clean, well-documented C/C++ code for embedded systems.
• Conduct design and code reviews; develop unit, integration and system tests.
• Debug and troubleshoot embedded software issues; use appropriate tools.
• Collect and analyze data to monitor KPIs and improve performance.
• Deliver projects on time and within budget in an agile environment.
• Leverage AI tools to optimize embedded software development and testing.
