Job summary

Western Digital Corporation is seeking an Engineer, Software Development Engineering (Embedded) in Malaysia to design, develop and test firmware for eHDD. You will work in a cross-functional team using CI and Agile methodologies on data storage products and hardware interfaces. Strong C/C++ and Python skills plus knowledge of data structures are required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer/Electronics Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
Knowledge in C/C++, object-oriented programming, Python, data structures and algorithms.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, integrate and maintain quality firmware for eHDD using CI and Agile practices.
Design and implementation of data structures, software algorithms, data path, and drivers for hardware cores using C++ and Python.
Participate in Scrum & Agile processes to develop embedded firmware for data storage products.
Collaborate on solutions across hardware and software platforms, including servers, RAID, Windows and Linux.
Plan and coordinate technical investigations from problem statements to conclusions.
Create design documents for firmware development phases.
