Job summary

GMRecruitment Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced ELV Design Lead to oversee and standardize ELV systems for hyperscale and colocation data centres in Malaysia. You will lead design reviews, ensure regulatory compliance, and collaborate with CSAs, MEPs, IT and security teams to deliver resilient infrastructure.

Candidates should have at least 10 years in ELV design, and a proven record from concept to commissioning on large-scale facilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of ELV system design and engineering experience.
• Experience in data centres, mission-critical facilities, telecommunications or large-scale intelligent buildings.
• Proven experience delivering projects from concept through commissioning.
• Strong experience collaborating with design consultants, developers, contractors and operators.
• Experience developing technical standards, specifications and engineering best practices is preferred.
• Prior experience in hyperscale or colocation data centre projects is highly desirable.
• Strong technical leadership, design review and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and ELV design expertise for data centre projects.
• Develop and standardize ELV design standards, technical specifications and engineering best practices.
• Review ELV systems including structured cabling, fibre networks, BMS, EPMS, DCIM, CCTV, access control, PAGA, physical security and other ELV infrastructure.
• Review and validate design deliverables to ensure compliance with company standards, client requirements, regulatory requirements.
• Evaluate design changes, value engineering proposals and emerging technologies to improve reliability, scalability, security and operational efficiency.
• Support RFPs, tender evaluations, technical due diligence and customer engagements by providing ELV technical expertise.
• Conduct design quality assurance reviews, technical audits, construction document reviews and commissioning validations.
• Collaborate with CSA, MEP, IT, Security, Operations, consultants and contractors to deliver integrated and resilient data centre solutions.
