Job summary

Amity Technical Services & Consultancy (M) Sdn Bhd – Penang is seeking an EMS Manufacturing Technician to support production, assembly, testing, troubleshooting and repair of electronic products in an EMS environment.

You will read drawings, operate SMT and assembly equipment, perform inspections, document records, and contribute to quality and process improvements while following IPC standards and safety protocols.

Qualifications

Diploma, technical certificate, or associate degree in Electronics or related field.
1–3 years in electronics manufacturing, assembly, or testing.
Knowledge of PCB assemblies, components, and manufacturing techniques.
Ability to read schematics and drawings.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with manufacturing systems.

Responsibilities

Assemble electronic products, PCBA, and subassemblies according to work instructions and engineering specifications.
Operate manufacturing equipment, including SMT, through-hole, and automated assembly systems.
Perform functional, electrical, and visual inspections of products to ensure quality standards.
Troubleshoot and repair faulty assemblies and electronic devices.
Conduct testing using meters, oscilloscopes, and automated test systems.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, BOMs, and manufacturing docs.
Maintain accurate production, testing, and repair records.
Support process improvements to increase productivity and reduce defects.
Follow IPC standards, quality management requirements, and company procedures.
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and ESD control practices.
Collaborate with engineers, quality personnel, and production teams to resolve issues.
