Job summary

Private Advertiser in Malaysia is seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Technician to inspect, troubleshoot, repair and maintain HV/LV installations and production equipment. The role focuses on keeping electrical systems, motor drives and instrumentation running with minimal downtime.

You will read schematics, install and test equipment, participate in plant shutdowns, and uphold safety standards including LOTO and 5S practices.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid Chargeman Certificate – A0 or A1.
• Certificate/Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology or a related field.
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in electrical maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Able to read and interpret electrical drawings, circuit diagrams and schematics.
• Willing to work during shutdowns, overtime or on-call when required.
• Fresh graduates with a valid A0/A1 Chargeman Certificate are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Carry out inspection, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of electrical installations, including HV and LV equipment.

Job description

Carry out inspection, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of the facility’s electrical installations, including high-voltage (HV) and low-voltage (LV) equipment.

Monitor the operating condition and performance of electrical systems, induction motors, motor drives, instrumentation and other electrical equipment to ensure optimum performance and minimize downtime.

Perform scheduled preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance of production machinery and facility systems, including power supply, firefighting systems, HVAC, lifts/cranes and air compressors.

Attend to unplanned electrical breakdowns, emergency repairs and troubleshooting during operations.

Read and interpret electrical drawings, circuit diagrams, blueprints and schematics.

Install, dismantle, modify, assemble and test electrical equipment, machinery, wiring and components as required.

Carry out overhauling, testing and inspection of electrical equipment after maintenance or repair.

Assist in troubleshooting machinery and electrical/instrumentation issues and recommend necessary repairs or replacement of parts.

Perform LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) isolation in accordance with approved isolation procedures.

Maintain power tools, testing equipment, measuring instruments, spare parts and other maintenance equipment in good condition.

Record meter readings, energy usage, equipment fault history, operational records and maintenance/service activities accurately.

Participate in monthly and annual plant shutdown activities.

Ensure compliance with safety, occupational health, environmental, hygiene, security and 5S requirements.

Maintain good housekeeping at the workshop and assigned work areas.

Work closely with Operations, Engineering, internal teams and contractors to ensure maintenance activities are completed safely and effectively.

Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

Possess a valid Chargeman Certificate – A0 or A1.

Certificate/Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology or a related field.

Minimum 1–2 years of experience in electrical maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Good knowledge of electrical systems, industrial machinery and preventive maintenance.

Able to read and interpret electrical drawings, circuit diagrams and schematics.

Able to troubleshoot electrical equipment, motors, motor drives and machinery.

Knowledge of LOTO, 5S and workplace safety practices will be an added advantage.

Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Willing to work during shutdowns, overtime or on-call when required.

Fresh graduates with a valid A0/A1 Chargeman Certificate are encouraged to apply.
