Job summary

AIXTRON Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is hiring junior and senior Electrical & Software Engineers to join our Batu Kawan site.

You will own electrical system architecture and power distribution for advanced semiconductor equipment, shaping reliable, compliant systems for cutting-edge performance. Collaborate with manufacturing, service and global teams, define interfaces, select sensors and actuators, and ensure integration across modules.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 2–10 years of professional experience in electrical system design for industrial or semiconductor equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of power distribution, control architecture, and system integration.
  • Experience with motion control and PLC architecture.
  • Ability to work across modules and collaborate with global teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design and optimize main and low voltage power distribution systems.
  • Define system architecture and technical requirements for electrical and control systems.
  • Integrate sensors, actuators and motion components.
  • Support integration of vacuum, thermal and process subsystems from electrical perspective.
  • Lead modules and mentor engineers.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing, service, supply chain and global development teams.

We are building a newgreenfield manufacturing and engineering hubinBatu Kawan, Penang. The site will provide astate-of-the-art cleanroom environment for assembly & testingof our high-end systems and will contribute toengineering for the next generation of products. About the role

We are looking for Junior and Senior Electrical & Software Engineers to join our team. You will take ownership of the electrical system architecture and power distribution of advanced semiconductor equipment. From high-level system design to detailed implementation, you will shape reliable, compliant, and future‑ready systems that enable cutting‑edge performance.

You will define system structures, interfaces, and technical requirements — transforming complexity into scalable solutions. Whether selecting and integrating sensors, actuators, and motion components or supporting vacuum, thermal, and process subsystems, you will ensure seamless electrical and software integration across the entire machine.

Beyond technical excellence, you will lead modules, coordinate contributors, mentor engineers, and ensure configuration consistency across releases. Working closely with manufacturing, service, supply chain, and global development teams, you will turn architecture into operational reality.

Responsibilities
  • Design andoptimizemain and low voltage power distribution systems with focus on reliability,maintainabilityand compliance
  • Define system architecture,interfacesand technical requirements for electrical and control systems
  • Select and integrate sensors,actuatorsand motion components for industrial environments
  • Support integration of vacuum, thermal and process‑related subsystems from an electrical perspective
  • Structure andmaintainlarge E-Plan projects according to company standards
  • Conduct Failure Mode and Effects Analysis and structured risk assessments; drive mitigation actions
  • Understand Software (PLC) architecture and help with in site trouble shooting
  • Lead technical modules, coordinatecontributorsand mentor engineers
  • Perform engineering data analysis using Excel or scripting tools to support decision-making
  • Manage engineering changes across modules and releases, ensuring configuration consistency
  • Collaborate closely with manufacturing, service, supplychainand global development teams
Qualifications & Skills
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, or related fields
  • 2–10 years of professional experience in electrical system design within industrial or semiconductor equipment
  • Strong knowledge of power distribution, controlarchitectureand system integration
  • Strong knowledge of motion control, programmable logic controller architecture and automation topology
  • Experience in requirements engineering, system architecture and cross‑module dependency management
  • Solid understanding of systems thinking, including interfaces, dependencies and risk impacts
  • Proficiencyin E‑Plan; solid understanding of Product Lifecycle Management
  • Structured problem‑solving mindset using root cause analysis and analytical tools
  • Sound understanding of international standards and safety regulations
  • Strong ownership, technicalleadershipand cross-cultural collaboration skills

  • Majority of work at theBatu Kawansite.
  • Occasional travel to Headquarters in Germany or other regional sites
