Job summary

AIXTRON Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is seeking Junior and Senior Mechanical Design Project Engineers to define system architectures for advanced semiconductor equipment.

You will translate complex requirements into robust, scalable concepts and ensure cross-domain integration across mechanical, electrical, automation and process areas. You will drive risk assessments, balance performance and manufacturability, and uphold international standards from the outset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or related field.
• Strong knowledge of system architecture and requirements engineering.
• Experience with vacuum, thermal systems and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Define and shape system-level architectures for semiconductor equipment.
• Translate complex requirements into robust, scalable concepts.
• Ensure cross-domain integration across mechanical, electrical, automation and process domains.
• Drive risk assessments (FMEA) and design decisions.
• Maintain ISO/CE/SEMI compliance and governance from start.
• Collaborate with global engineering, manufacturing and supply chain teams.
• Mentor others and establish high-quality documentation standards.

AIXTRON’s new manufacturing & engineering hub in Malaysia

We are building a newgreenfield manufacturing and engineering hubinBatu Kawan, Penang. The site will provide astate-of-the-art cleanroom environment for assembly & testingof our high-end systems and will contribute toengineering for the next generation of products. About The Role

We are looking for Junior and Senior Mechanical Design Project Engineers to join our team. In this role, you will define and shape system-level architectures for advanced semiconductor equipment. You translate complex requirements into robust,scalable,and compliant system concepts, ensuring seamless integration across mechanical, electrical, automation and process domains.

You will act as a technical driver across interfaces, and you navigate competing priorities with confidence. You balance performance, cost, manufacturability, and risk while embedding compliance with international standards and internal governance from the very beginning.

Responsibilities

• Define and manage system requirements across cross-functional interfaces
• Develop andmaintainsystem schematic architecture, including mechanical, vacuum, thermal, exhaust, powerdistributionand automation concepts
• Lead structured risk assessments (FMEA) and drive preventive design decisions
• Apply structured problem-solving methods such as root cause analysis and 8D for complex technical issues
• Ensure compliance with ISO, CE,SEMIand safety standards
• Drive change and configuration management across modules and releases
• Establish high-quality technical documentation standards and mentor others
• Collaborate closely with global engineering,manufacturingand supply chain teams

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s orMaster’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related fieldwith
• 2–10 years of professional experience in system engineering or complex equipment development
• Strongexpertisein system architecture definition and requirements engineering
• Solid understanding of vacuum systems, thermal systems, mechanical design,materialsand process fundamentals
• Experience in tolerance analysis, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
• Proficiencyin 2D, ability to open and read 3D CAD (e.g. Creo), Product LifecycleManagementand enterprise resource planning systems
• Analytical mindset with strong data analysis capabilities
• Proven ownership, technicalleadershipand ability to drive cross-functional alignment
• Fluent Englishcommunicationskills
