Job summary

AIXTRON Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is hiring an Electro-mechanical Engineer to design and integrate mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies for advanced semiconductor equipment. You will shape system architectures and ensure manufacturability and reliability across modules.

Join a state-of-the-art greenfield hub in Batu Kawan starting in 2027, collaborating with a global team of around 1,000 employees to deliver next-generation products while adhering to ISO, CE and SEMI standards.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering.
  • 2–10 years of professional experience in electro-mechanical system design.
  • Strong expertise in 3D CAD tools (Creo) and PLM systems.
  • Knowledge of electro-mechanical architecture, vacuum technology and materials engineering.
  • Fluent English communication (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

  • Design and optimize complex mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies and multi-interface architectures.
  • Develop robust tolerance concepts and geometric dimensioning strategies.
  • Integrate vacuum systems, power distribution elements, sensors, actuators and motion components.
  • Define scalable control architecture and PLC topology for modular systems.
  • Lead system-level trade-offs, manage requirements and ensure interface alignment.
  • Drive Design for Manufacturing and cost-optimized solutions across the product lifecycle.
  • Create and maintain high-quality technical documentation, drawings and specifications in English.

About the role

The role of an Electro-mechanical Engineer is a core architect of the electro-mechanical and mechanical backbone behind cutting-edge semiconductor equipment. This is a high-impact, hands-on position where you shape complex architectures, engineer precision interfaces, and push the limits of what these systems can do.

You’ll drive robust, high-performance designs across mechanical structures, vacuum assemblies, power pathways, and control interfaces-ensuring every module you touch is manufacturable, serviceable, and built for long-term reliability. As a key technical owner, you’ll influence system-level architecture decisions, champion design excellence, and collaborate with cross-functional experts in manufacturing, service, compliance, and engineering to bring breakthrough hardware to life.

Responsibilities
  • Design andoptimizecomplex mechanicaland electro-mechanicalassemblies and multi-interface architectures
  • Develop robust tolerance concepts and geometric dimensioning strategies
  • Integrate vacuum systems, power distribution elements, sensors,actuatorsand motion components
  • Define scalable control architecture and programmable logic controller topology for modular systems
  • Lead system-level trade-offs, managerequirementsand ensure interface alignment
  • Drive Design forManufacturing and cost-optimized solutions across the product lifecycle
  • Conduct structured root cause analysis and support risk assessments such as Failure Mode and Effects Analysis(FMEA)
  • Manage technical changes within Product Lifecycle Management systems and mitigate cross-module impacts
  • Create andmaintainhigh-quality technical documentation,drawingsand specifications in English
Qualifications & Skills
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics or electrical Engineering
  • 2-10 years of professional experience in electro-mechanical system design
  • Strongexpertisein 3D Computer Aided Design tools (e.g.Creo) and Product Lifecycle Management systems
  • Solid knowledge ofelectro-mechanical architecture, materialsengineeringand vacuum technology
  • Experience with power distribution, automationtopologyand motion systems
  • Structured problem-solving skills and analytical mindset
  • Familiarity with ISO,CEandSEMIstandards
  • Proven ownership, cross-functional collaboration and learning agility
  • Fluent English communication skills (written and spoken)
