Job summary

AIXTRON Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an Electrical Engineer specialized in EPlan to own and deliver complex electrical design projects for advanced MOCVD equipment.

You will architect robust control systems, define future-ready architectures, and collaborate with mechanical, process and automation teams to ensure manufacturability and lifecycle excellence. The role emphasizes ownership, technical depth, and the ability to shape how the Malaysia site operates within a global team of about 1,000

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 5–10 years of professional experience in electrical design and automation engineering.
  • Fluent English communication skills (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

  • Design and optimize primary and low power distribution systems with focus on reliability, maintainability, electromagnetic compatibility and compliance.
  • Structure and maintain large EPLAN projects in accordance with internal standards.
  • Define programmable logic controller structures and scalable automation topologies across modules.
  • Integrate sensors, actuators and motion systems for stable and robust performance.
  • Interpret and apply ISO, CE and SEMI standards across interfaces.
  • Conduct FMEA and structured risk assessments, driving mitigation actions to closure.
  • Manage requirements, documentation and change processes within product lifecycle management and ERP systems.
  • Drive Design for Manufacturing and cost-conscious engineering decisions.
  • Support root cause analysis and structured problem solving (e.g., 8D methodology).

In this role, you lead large and technically demanding EPlan projects from concept to release. You define intelligent, future-ready control architectures and create high-quality documentation that ensures seamless manufacturing, smooth serviceability, and long-term lifecycle excellence.

Balancing performance, cost, and risk; you make smart engineering decisions that move projects forward. Working closely with mechanical, process, and automation experts, you turn interdisciplinary collaboration into powerful, integrated solutions.

Qualifications & Skills

  • StrongexpertiseinEplan, power architecture and control system design
  • Solid understanding of vacuum, thermal and process fundamentals
  • Experience with system architecture definition and cross-module integration
  • Proven ability to lead technical modules and collaborate across disciplines and cultures
  • Structured, analytical mindset with strong ownership and accountability
  • Fluent English communication skills (written and spoken)
Working Conditions
  • Role based at AIXTRON Malaysia Sdn. Bhd.
  • Majority of work at the Batu Kawansite.
  • Occasional travel to Headquarters in Germany or other regional sites.
