Job summary

Evyap Malaysia is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to manage and ensure safe, reliable operation of the plant’s electrical systems, lead maintenance programs, energy management, and compliance with regulations.

You will execute projects from design through commissioning, supervise the electrical maintenance team, coordinate with external contractors, and drive reliability and cost-efficiency improvements in a chemical/oleochemical/process plant setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, maintenance and/or project execution.
• Strong experience in HV/MV/LV electrical distribution systems in industrial settings.
• Knowledge of switchgear, transformers, protection relays and VFDs.
• Experience in RCA/CAPA and electrical failure investigation.
• Exposure to SAP PM or similar CMMS.
• Project estimation, tendering, contractor management and commissioning experience.
• ST Chargeman Certification - A4/B4 minimum; A0/B0 preferred - Mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Execute plant improvement, modification and expansion projects from design to commissioning.
• Maintain availability, reliability and optimal performance of distribution network assets.
• Plan and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance to maximize reliability.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for electrical failures.
• Monitor plant energy consumption and drive energy efficiency initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with ST requirements, CoC/CoR and electrical safety procedures.
• Coordinate with TNB on supply matters, load management and outages.
• Prepare technical estimations, specifications, tender docs and cost evaluations.
• Manage electrical contractors, consultants and suppliers to meet timelines and quality.
• Supervise the electrical maintenance team and develop staff capability.
• Maintain drawings, maintenance history and statutory documentation.
