Job summary

CS E&I Engineering SDN BHD is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer (Site) for a Data Centre in Cyberjaya, Selangor. You will oversee electrical systems, power distribution, generators and UPS, ensuring safe and reliable operation across the facility.

With a minimum of 5 years in electrical engineering and data centre exposure, you will conduct maintenance, coordinate with teams and uphold IEC/NEC and local regulations. PE registration is desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in electrical engineering, data centre experience preferred.
• PE registration or equivalent is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee installation, commissioning and maintenance of electrical systems in data centres.
• Manage power distribution, generators, UPS and cooling system maintenance.
• Conduct safety audits and ensure compliance with codes and regulations.
• Inspect systems regularly and implement preventative maintenance programs.
• Troubleshoot faults and minimize downtime with corrective actions.
• Monitor performance, prepare reports and recommend optimisations.
• Coordinate with contractors and document drawings and records.
• Provide technical guidance on electrical safety to operations staff.
• Respond to emergencies and conduct emergency shutdowns when needed.

Electrical Engineer (Site) - Data Centre

About the role We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer (Site) - Data Centre to join CS E&I Engineering SDN BHD. This position based in Cyberjaya, Selangor, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe, efficient and reliable operation of electrical systems within our data centre facilities.

Key responsibilities

Oversee the installation, commissioning and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment within data centre facilities, including power distribution, backup generators, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) and cooling systems

Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance programmes to ensure all electrical systems operate at optimal efficiency and comply with safety standards and regulations

Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical faults and failures, implementing swift corrective actions to minimise downtime and operational disruption

Monitor electrical parameters, power consumption and system performance, preparing detailed reports and recommendations for optimisation

Ensure compliance with relevant electrical codes, safety regulations and industry standards, including conducting safety audits and risk assessments

Collaborate with site teams, contractors and external specialists to coordinate electrical works and facility upgrades

Maintain comprehensive documentation of electrical systems, maintenance records, test results and as-built drawings

Provide technical support and guidance to operational staff on electrical safety and proper equipment operation

Respond promptly to emergency situations and implement emergency shutdown procedures when necessary

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline

Professional Engineer (PE) registration or equivalent professional qualification is highly desirable

Minimum 5 years of professional experience in electrical engineering, with substantial experience in data centre environments or similar critical infrastructure facilities

Strong knowledge of electrical systems design, installation and maintenance, including high voltage and low voltage distribution systems

Hands-on experience with data centre-specific equipment such as generators, UPS systems, power distribution units (PDUs) and precision cooling systems

Comprehensive understanding of electrical safety standards, codes and best practices, including IEC, NEC and local Malaysian regulations

Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical drawings, schematics and technical documentation

Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills with the ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions

Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams

Reliability and a proactive approach to health, safety and environmental compliance
