Job summary

ELSA in Johor is seeking an Electrical Engineer for a contract role in the Oil & Gas sector. The position focuses on designing and maintaining electrical systems, supporting commissioning, and driving reliability improvements on site.

The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with at least five years of hands-on experience in electrical design, testing and troubleshooting. Proficiency in AutoCAD and ETAP is required, with familiarity in power distribution and safety

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
Minimum five years of experience.
Experience with protection relays, transformers, switchgear, motors and UPS.
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, SLDs and schematics.
Proficient in AutoCAD and ETAP.

Responsibilities

Provide technical input for electrical strategy, business plan, and policy, delivering engineering services.
Design, test, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve electrical systems.
Support operation and maintenance of electrical equipment including protection relays, transformers, switchgear, motors and UPS.
Review electrical drawings, SLDs, schematics, and technical documents.
Assist commissioning, testing and start-up activities across projects and operations.
Monitor system performance, perform root cause analysis, and drive reliability improvements.
Provide technical expertise and contribute to capability development and continuous improvement.
Ensure activities comply with safety requirements, standards, codes and best practices.
Maintain accurate engineering documentation and provide recommendations to stakeholders.
Support initiatives to enhance asset reliability and operational efficiency.
