Job summary

RAY TECH SINGAPORE PTE. LTD. in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Product Engineer to design, develop, program, and test electrical systems for new machinery. You will work with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative automation solutions that support manufacturing excellence.

The role requires hands-on electrical design, PLC programming, and proficiency with EPLAN, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks. You will document designs, support installation, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience as a Product Engineer or similar in manufacturing/engineering environment.
• Hands-on experience in electrical system design for machinery is mandatory.
• Strong PLC programming experience is mandatory.
• Proficient in EPLAN for electrical design.
• Proficient in AutoCAD or SolidWorks.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate project requirements into technical solutions.
• Design electrical systems for machinery and automation equipment using EPLAN, and prepare electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and BOMs.
• Develop mechanical layouts, prototypes, and test rigs using CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
• Program, debug, and commission PLC-based control systems including HMI and motion control.
• Conduct testing/validation to ensure product performance and compliance with specs.
• Prepare technical documentation and support on-site installation and commissioning.
• Provide technical training and contribute to quality/continuous improvement initiatives.

Job description

As a key member of the Research & Development (R&D) team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, programming, and testing electrical systems and automation solutions for new machinery and products. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop innovative, high-quality solutions that support the company's growth and manufacturing excellence.

Key responsibilities:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

Design electrical systems for machinery and automation equipment using EPLAN, and prepare electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and Bill of Materials (BOM).

Develop mechanical layouts, prototypes, and test rigs using drawing tools, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent CAD software.

Program, debug, and commission PLC-based control systems (mandatory), including HMI, servo systems, communication protocols, and motion control.

Conduct research, testing, and validation to ensure product performance, reliability, and compliance with project specifications.

Optimize existing products and manufacturing processes to improve performance, quality, reliability, and cost efficiency.

Prepare technical documentation, including design drawings, work instructions, testing reports, and development records.

Support on-site machine installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and customer acceptance testing.

Provide technical training to internal employees on electrical systems, machine operation and work instructions.

Participate in quality management system implementation and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

Proven experience as a Product Engineer or similar role in a manufacturing or engineering environment.

Hands-on experience in electrical system design for machinery is mandatory.

Strong PLC programming experience is mandatory.

Practical knowledge of servo systems, HMI, variable frequency drives (VFD), industrial communication, and automation control systems.

Proficient inEPLAN for electrical design.

Proficient in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent CAD software.

Good analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
