Job summary

GOUGH Recruitment Malaysia is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to support the design, coordination, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems for Data Centre projects. The role collaborates with project stakeholders to ensure delivery from design through handover.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering, experience in data centre design, and knowledge of MV/LV, UPS, and power distribution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience in electrical design, building services, mission-critical facilities, or Data Centre projects is preferred.
• Knowledge of power distribution systems, generators, UPS, MV/LV systems, and electrical design standards.
• Familiarity with TNB, Suruhanjaya Tenaga requirements, Malaysian Standards, and local regulations.
• Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
• Applicants with proven experience in Data Centre electrical design, coordination, and project delivery will be considered for senior-level opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Review and coordinate electrical systems including power distribution, switchgear, transformers, UPS, generators, fire alarm, BMS, and associated infrastructure.
• Review electrical design drawings, calculations, equipment schedules, technical submissions, and shop drawings to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, utilities, and authorities to resolve technical issues and support project delivery.
• Support testing, commissioning, energization, and integrated systems testing activities for electrical and associated building systems.
• Maintain project documentation including RFIs, inspection records, test reports, as-built drawings, and handover documentation.
