Key Responsibilities
- Electrical Design Leadership: Lead and oversee the electrical design of data center projects, including utility intake, substations, transformers, switchgear, UPS systems, generators, power distribution, busways, earthing, lighting, and associated systems.
- Power Infrastructure Planning: Plan and oversee MV/LV power distribution, backup power and redundancy strategies, power pathways, equipment layouts, load requirements, and capacity for future expansion.
- Standards and Compliance: Apply internal electrical standards, design principles, and lessons learned, while ensuring alignment with industry standards, local regulations, authority requirements, project specifications, and end-user expectations.
- Systems Integration: Coordinate electrical interfaces across mechanical, architectural, civil, structural, fire protection, ELV/ICT, BMS/EPMS/DCIM, security, operations, commissioning, and construction disciplines.
- Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance on electrical systems to support reliability, redundancy, safety, maintainability, scalability, operational readiness, and project delivery.
- Design Review and Quality Assurance: Review drawings, specifications, calculations, single-line diagrams, equipment schedules, system architecture diagrams, technical studies, and proposals for completeness, coordination, accuracy, and constructability.
- Vendor and Consultant Coordination: Collaborate with consultants, contractors, vendors, and suppliers to evaluate and select electrical equipment, systems, materials, and technical solutions that meet project and lifecycle requirements.
- Construction, Commissioning and Handover Support: Support technical issue resolution, installation coordination, testing, commissioning, as-built reviews, documentation checks, and electrical system handover.
Job Requirements
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- Familiar with electrical design standards and specifications, as well as national, American, and British design codes, with experience in Southeast Asia design and approval processes.
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of data center electrical systems, including power distribution, backup power, resilience, redundancy, and infrastructure integration.
- Codes and Standards: In-depth knowledge of IEC and EN standards, together with applicable local electrical codes and regulations.
- Design Management: Proven ability to lead and coordinate complex design workstreams, supported by strong organizational, coordination, and leadership skills.
Experience
- Over 8 years of Electrical design experience in Malaysia,Indonesia,or other Southeast Asiancountries, with proven experience in the electricaldesign and management of data centers.
- Proven track record in delivering electricalconcept and detailed design for large-scale industrial, logistics, or data center projects.
- Skilled in analysis and problem-solving to address design and construction issues efficiently.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of articulating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written).
- Capable of handling high-pressure situations, juggling multiple tasks, and achieving outcomes in a dynamic work setting.
- Eager to learn, positive-minded, and takes initiative.
