Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions in Kulai, Johor, seeks an experienced EHS professional to develop and update safety policies, implement the Safety and Health Management System, and promote safety across the organisation.

You will conduct risk assessments, monitor contractor safety, deliver EHS training, and support investigations and audits, including NADOPOD compliance. Strong communication and 5+ years in EHS are required.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Environmental Safety or Occupational Safety & Health.
  • Certified Safety & Health Officer (SHO) with valid DOSH Green Book.
  • Minimum 5 years of EHS experience.
  • Strong knowledge of EHS regulations, compliance standards and audits.
  • Experience with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, RBA and customer audits.
  • Analytical, meticulous and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and updating safety and health policies to meet legal requirements.
  • Implement and maintain the Safety and Health Management System.
  • Oversee workplace safety activities and health awareness programmes.
  • Conduct daily/weekly safety inspections and identify unsafe acts or conditions.
  • Perform HIRARC or other risk assessments and implement controls.
  • Monitor contractors for compliance with PPE and Permit-to-Work.
  • Coordinate with third parties for EHS monitoring activities.
  • Provide EHS induction and refresher training; brief new contractors/suppliers.
  • Prepare safety statistics and monthly reports; notify DOSH when required.
  • Support investigations for accidents, incidents and near-misses.
  • Maintain Emergency Response Plan and related welfare arrangements.
  • Submit NADOPOD-related notifications and liaison with DOSH and authorities.
  • Support internal/external audits; close audit findings with corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with anti-bribery and anti-corruption policies.
  • Build relationships with employees, stakeholders and the public.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Job description

Amphenol Communications Solutions – Kulai, Johor

Assist in developing and updating safety and health policies to meet applicable legal requirements and support the Company’s vision and safety objectives.

Implement and maintain the Safety and Health Management System and promote awareness and participation across all levels of the organisation.

Implement and enforce the Company’s safety and health policies, procedures and safe work practices Oversee workplace safety and health activities, including health awareness programmes, in accordance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 (Act 514), as amended, and other applicable occupational safety and health legislation.

Proactively monitor compliance with workplace safety and health requirements, provide verbal guidance or written notices, and follow up on corrective actions.

Conduct daily/weekly workplace safety inspections, identify unsafe acts and conditions, recommend corrective actions, and submit written findings to site management and HQ. Monitor actions through to closure.

Conduct Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Risk Control (HIRARC) or others risk assessment such as ergonomic and psychosocial, implement appropriate control measures, and review their effectiveness to eliminate hazards or minimise risks.

Monitor contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and vendors for compliance with the Company’s safety and health requirements such as enforcement of PPE and Permit-to-Work system.

Coordinate with Third party for EHS monitoring activity.

Conduct EHS induction and refresher training for employees and EHS briefing for new Contractor or Supplier.

Provide and update safety and health statistics and activities for monthly reporting to management and provide reports to DOSH where required.

Support SHC member and investigation team to conduct investigation for any accident, incident and near miss cases and recommendation for corrective and prevention action to prevent occurrence.

Conduct investigation for any disciplinary issue and come out with recommendation for improvement.

Support during accident and incident investigation Maintain and coordinate the Emergency Response Plan (ERP), emergency contact information, first aid facilities and relevant welfare arrangements. Communicate responsibilities and procedures to the relevant personnel.

Preparation and timely submission of statutory notifications, records and returns under the NADOPOD Regulations 2004, including JKKP 8, to DOSH and other relevant parties as applicable.

Liaise with the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH), the Police and other relevant authorities on workplace health, safety and security matters.

Periodically review the Safety and Health Management System and recommend improvements to reflect changes in operations, workplace conditions and legal requirements.

Coordinate safety and health preparations for internal and external audits, maintain updated documentation, and follow up on audit findings and corrective actions.

Monitor changes in applicable legal and other requirements, maintain the compliance register, and notify the Management Representative (MR) in writing of relevant changes or compliance gaps. Work with the MR to implement appropriate corrective and preventive measures.

Respond to queries from internal and external auditors and provide the necessary records and supporting evidence.

Uphold integrity and comply with the Company’s anti-bribery and anti-corruption policies in all work activities and dealings.

Build and maintain professional working relationships with employees, stakeholders and the public through effective communication, cooperation and responsive service.

Perform other relevant duties as assigned by the immediate superior.

Job Requirements

Possess a Degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety & Health, or equivalent qualification.

Certified Safety & Health Officer (SHO) with a valid DOSH Green Book.

Minimum 5 years of relevant EHS experience.

Strong knowledge of EHS regulations, compliance standards, and industry best practices.

Experience in managing ISO 45001, ISO 14001, RBA, and customer audits.

Meticulous, analytical, and possess strong problem-solving skills.

Good interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
