Job summary

Hirehub Management Sdn. Bhd. seeks an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead our EHS program across projects in Malaysia.

The role focuses on developing, implementing, and enforcing EHS policies while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and standards. You will conduct risk assessments, deliver training, investigate incidents, and drive continuous improvement of the EHS management system.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in safety/environmental field.
  • Registered Safety Engineer preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of EHS management experience.
  • Strong English communication skills.
  • Knowledge of EHS legislation and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and enforce EHS policies and programs.
  • Oversee compliance with environmental, occupational health and safety laws and standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement controls and corrective actions.
  • Develop, deliver and coordinate EHS training and awareness programs.

Job Description (JD)
  • Develop, implement, and enforce the company's Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) policies to ensure all employees understand and comply with established standards.
  • Oversee and ensure compliance with all applicable environmental, occupational health, and safety laws, regulations, and statutory requirements, including waste management, emission control, and safe work practices.
  • Conduct risk assessments across company operations to identify environmental, health, and safety hazards, and implement appropriate control, corrective, and preventive measures.
  • Develop and deliver EHS training and awareness programs to enhance employees' understanding of EHS requirements and promote a strong safety culture.
  • Lead the investigation, reporting, and resolution of EHS-related incidents, accidents, and near misses, and provide timely reports to senior management.
  • Establish, implement, and continuously improve the company's EHS management system to ensure effective operation and compliance with relevant standards.
  • Coordinate with internal departments, clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and main contractors on EHS-related matters to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Manage EHS resources, including manpower, equipment, and budgets, to support the effective implementation of EHS initiatives.
  • Provide recommendations to senior management on EHS strategies, improvements, and risk mitigation measures.
  • Perform any other ad hoc duties assigned by management.
Job Requirements (JR)
  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Safety Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Registered Safety Engineer or other relevant professional EHS certification is preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of EHS management experience in project or construction environments.
  • Good command of English (both written and spoken).
  • Strong knowledge of occupational safety and health legislation, environmental regulations, and mandatory standards for mechanical and electrical (M&E) engineering or construction projects.
  • Familiar with EHS management systems and international safety standards.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and risk management abilities.
  • High level of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail with a proactive working attitude.
  • Able to work effectively with cross-functional teams, clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and main contractors.
