Job summary

Boston Scientific Medical Device (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. in Penang is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Engineer to help strengthen workplace safety, manage hazard assessments, and ensure compliance with local regulations.

You will work with manufacturing teams, support contractor management during expansions, and drive ISO 14001/45001 initiatives while maintaining robust records and emergency response readiness.

Qualifications

• Experience as EHS competent person in manufacturing (2–5 years).
• Knowledge of CHRA and HIRAC processes.
• Familiarity with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to the development of the site's Safety Statement including hazard risk assessment and control programmes.
• Works with Supervisors, Trainers and Technicians to identify and control significant environmental, health and safety impacts of operations.
• Takes a central role in working with internal committees and training efforts.
• Ensures that all required records are prepared and maintained.
• Participates in and prepares for EHS inspections by external agencies, and all system audits.
• Investigates, prepares, communicates and manages reports on injuries, ill-health, and corrective actions as required.
• Supports and contributes to the site's life safety programmes to include emergency response.
• Understands and proactively follows through on the Environmental Management Procedures that have been identified as relevant to position.

Job Requirements:

Candidate required process at least Bachelor of degree in relevant field for EHS and should have a green book from DOSH.

At least 2-5years of working experience as EHS competent person in manufacturing.

Required to have knowledge / exposure to ISO 140001 and 45001.

Managing contractors during expansion and construction is an advantage.

Able to perform CHRA and HIRAC.

Ergonomic assessor.
