EHS Engineer II

Job summary

Boston Scientific is seeking an EHS specialist in Penang to support the site’s safety and environmental programs. You will help identify hazards, assess risks, implement control measures, and assist with training and inspections.

The role requires collaboration with supervisors and technicians to minimize health and safety impacts. Candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 2–5 years of manufacturing EHS experience, plus familiarity with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree; green book from DOSH.
• 2–5 years of experience as an EHS competent person in manufacturing.
• Knowledge/exposure to ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• Experience managing contractors during expansion and construction is an advantage.
• Ability to perform CHRA and HIRAC.
• Ergonomic assessor.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to development of the site’s Safety Statement including hazard identification, risk assessment, and control programmes.
• Collaborates with Supervisors, Trainers and Technicians to identify and control environmental, health and safety impacts.
• Leads internal committees and training efforts related to EHS.
• Prepares and maintains required records for audits and inspections.
• Participates in EHS inspections by external agencies and system audits.
• Investigates and communicates injuries and ill-health, and supports corrective actions.
• Supports life safety programmes including emergency response.
• Follows Environmental Management Procedures applicable to the role.

Job Responsibilities

• Contributes to the development the site’s Safety Statement to include hazard identification, hazard risk assessment, and hazard control programmes and participates in their implementation.


• Works with Supervisors, Trainers and Technicians to identify and control significant environmental, health and safety impacts of operations.


• Takes a central role in working with internal committees and training efforts.


• Ensures that all required records are prepared and maintained.


• Participates in and prepares for EHS inspections by external agencies, and all system audits.


• Investigates, prepares, communicates and manages reports on injuries, ill-health, and corrective actions as required.


• Supports and contributes to the site’s life safety programmes to include emergency response.


• Understands and proactively follows through on the Environmental Management Procedures that have been identified as relevant to position.

Job Requirements

• Candidate required process at least Bachelor of degree in relevant field for EHS and should have a green book from DOSH.


• At least 2-5 years of working experience as EHS competent person in manufacturing.


• Required to have knowledge / exposure to ISO 140001 and 45001.


• Managing contractors during expansion and construction is an advantage.


• Able to perform CHRA and HIRAC.
