Job summary

Boston Scientific seeks an Environmental Health and Safety Engineer in Penang, Malaysia, to integrate EHS into site operations and lead hazard control programmes. You will collaborate with Supervisors, Trainers, and Technicians to minimize environmental and safety impacts and ensure robust record-keeping and regulatory compliance.

The role involves supporting life safety and emergency response programmes, participating in internal committees, and conducting CHRA/HIRAC assessments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant EHS field.
• 2–5 years of work experience as an EHS competent person in manufacturing.
• Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• Experience managing contractors during expansion and construction.
• Ability to perform CHRA and HIRAC.
• Ergonomic assessor.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to developing the site’s Safety Statement, including hazard ID, risk assessment, and control programmes.
• Works with Supervisors, Trainers and Technicians to control significant EHS impacts.
• Participates in internal committees and training efforts.
• Ensures records are prepared and maintained.
• Participates in external inspections and system audits.
• Investigates and reports injuries, ill-health, and corrective actions.
• Supports life safety programmes including emergency response.
• Follows Environmental Management Procedures relevant to the position.

Job description

Contributes to developing EHS programmes to make EHS an integral part of site operations.

Job Responsibilities:

Contributes to the development the site’s Safety Statement to include hazard identification, hazard risk assessment, and hazard control programmes and participates in their implementation.

Works with Supervisors, Trainers and Technicians to identify and control significant environmental, health and safety impacts of operations.

Takes a central role in working with internal committees and training efforts.

Ensures that all required records are prepared and maintained.

Participates in and prepares for EHS inspections by external agencies, and all system audits.

Investigates, prepares, communicates and manages reports on injuries, ill-health, and corrective actions as required.

Supports and contributes to the site’s life safety programmes to include emergency response.

Understands and proactively follows through on the Environmental Management Procedures that have been identified as relevant to position.

Job Requirements:

Candidate required process at least Bachelor of degree in relevant field for EHS and should have a green book from DOSH.

At least 2-5years of working experience as EHS competent person in manufacturing.

Required to have knowledge / exposure to ISO 140001 and 45001.

Managing contractors during expansion and construction is an advantage.

Able to perform CHRA and HIRAC.

Ergonomic assessor.
