Job summary

Boston Scientific seeks an Environmental Health and Safety Engineer in Penang, Malaysia, to integrate EHS into site operations and lead hazard control programmes. You will collaborate with Supervisors, Trainers, and Technicians to minimize environmental and safety impacts and ensure robust record-keeping and regulatory compliance.

The role involves supporting life safety and emergency response programmes, participating in internal committees, and conducting CHRA/HIRAC assessments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant EHS field.
• 2–5 years of work experience as an EHS competent person in manufacturing.
• Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• Experience managing contractors during expansion and construction.
• Ability to perform CHRA and HIRAC.
• Ergonomic assessor.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to developing the site’s Safety Statement, including hazard ID, risk assessment, and control programmes.
• Works with Supervisors, Trainers and Technicians to control significant EHS impacts.
• Participates in internal committees and training efforts.
• Ensures records are prepared and maintained.
• Participates in external inspections and system audits.
• Investigates and reports injuries, ill-health, and corrective actions.
• Supports life safety programmes including emergency response.
• Follows Environmental Management Procedures relevant to the position.
