Cushman & Wakefield is seeking an EHS Coordinator in Malaysia. You will monitor and improve Workplace Safety & Health and environmental programs in line with local regulations and company standards.
You will collaborate with site leadership, operations, facilities, and contractors to foster a strong safety culture. Responsibilities include inspections, incident investigations, risk assessments, training support, and environmental reporting.
EHS Coordinator
The EHS Coordinator supports the monitoring and continuous improvement of Workplace Safety & Health and environmental programs in compliance with local regulations and company standards. The role partners with our client, site leadership, operations, facilities, and contractors to promote a strong safety culture, regulatory compliance, and safe work practices across the site(s).
Workplace Safety & Health
Conduct routine site inspections (indoor, outdoor, lab, etc.), audits, and site walkthroughs; document findings and track corrective and preventive actions. Inspect sites for batteries, electronic, and regulated waste. Package, prepare, ship or coordinate shipments and submit documentation to onsite client EHS Engineer. Support labs with empty box management and various waste needs. Support investigation of incidents, accidents, and near misses in accordance with local reporting requirements, including root cause analysis and follow-up. Assist with risk assessments, Job Safety Analyses (JSA), and hazard identification activities. Support emergency preparedness, including drills, spill response readiness, ERT exercises, and first-aid coordination. Review, approve and audit hot work activities. Perform noise surveys and support audiometric testing events. Submit energy metrics in online tool. Inspection of safety equipment SDS Management. Support training and record-keeping requirements. Environmental Compliance. Assist with environmental compliance activities in alignment with the AHJ. Maintain environmental records and assist with internal and external reporting as required. Support site sustainability and environmental improvement initiatives. Training & Safety Culture. Coordinate and support training programs, including new hire orientation, refresher training, and toolbox meetings. Assist with safety communications, signage, and awareness campaigns. Promote safe work behaviors and serve as a point of contact for employee and contractor inquiries. Contractor & Operations. Support contractor onboarding, permit-to-work processes, and contractor compliance. Participate in pre-task briefings and site safety meetings. Provide on-the-ground EHS support to operations and facilities teams. Program Administration & Reporting. Track EHS and environmental KPIs and assist with internal reporting. Maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and chemical inventories. Support audits, inspections, and EHS-related projects led by site, regional, or global EHS leadership. Update and support all evacuation planning, map production, assembly area marking, etc.
1-3 years of experience in an EHS, safety, facilities, or industrial environment. Basic working knowledge of the OSH Act, DOSH requirements, and general EHS practices. Strong attention to detail and documentation discipline. Effective communication skills and ability to work with diverse stakeholders and contractors.
Degree in Workplace Safety & Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related discipline. Experience in manufacturing, logistics, laboratory, critical environments, or regulated environments. Familiarity with ISO or management systems (e.g., ISO 45001, ISO 14001). CPR / First Aid or emergency response training.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Ability to walk, stand, bend, and conduct site inspections. Ability to climb stairs or ladders and lift up to 20 kg with or without reasonable accommodation. Exposure to industrial environments including noise, equipment, and chemicals, with appropriate PPE.
Standard business hours, with flexibility to support operational needs. Occasional off-hours or weekend support for incidents, drills, or critical activities. Limited travel between local sites may be required.
