Job summary

Guangdong Intercity O&M (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. seeks a Senior Engineer to lead technical management for telecommunications, signalling and traction power within the ECRL West Section. You will coordinate maintenance, review technical plans, and drive safety and quality on-site in Malaysia.

Requirements include a bachelor’s in electrical/telecommunication or signalling, 5+ years in infrastructure, and strong communication in English and Malay, with Mandarin preferred.

• More than five years of relevant construction industry experience.
• Experience with major infrastructure projects is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical management and cross-system coordination for telecoms, signalling, and power systems on the western ECRL section.
• Organize preventive, condition-based, corrective maintenance, and testing; oversee restorations.
• Review procedures, drawings, plans, risk controls, and change documents.
• Supervise on-site quality, safety, progress and compliance with contracts and standards.
• Lead root-cause analysis and implement long-term corrective actions.
• Coordinate with client, operator, consultants, contractors, suppliers to resolve interfaces.
• Perform other duties related to maintenance as assigned.

ECRL Rail Electical/Signalling/Telecommunication Senior Engineer

Guangdong Intercity O&M Sdn Bhd is the Operation & Maintenance (O&M) provider for the West Section of the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) — Malaysia’s flagship 665 km rail infrastructure connecting Port Klang to Kelantan. As ECRL moves toward its 2027 operational launch, our team plays a critical role in ensuring the operational readiness of this nation-building project.

Key Responsibilities

• 1. Lead the technical management and cross-system coordination for the maintenance of the telecommunications, signalling, traction power supply and power supply systems on the western section of the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL).
• 2. Organize preventive maintenance, condition-based maintenance, corrective maintenance, emergency repairs, defect rectification, testing and restoration verification for the telecommunications, signalling, traction power supply and power supply systems.
• 3. Review maintenance procedures, technical drawings, method statements, inspection and test plans, isolation/de-energization and energisation plans, risk-control measures, and technical change documents.
• 4. Supervise on-site quality, safety, progress and technical compliance, ensuring that maintenance activities comply with contracts, approved documents, equipment manufacturers' requirements, CIDB requirements, and applicable Malaysian laws and standards.
• 5. Lead major failure analysis and root-cause investigations; develop technical solutions, interim control measures and long-term corrective actions; and drive them through to close-out.
• 6. Coordinate with the client, operator, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, equipment manufacturers and suppliers to resolve technical and interface issues across the telecommunications, signalling, traction power supply and power supply systems.
• 7. Perform other technical and management duties relating to maintenance of the telecommunications, signalling, traction power supply and power supply systems on the western section of the ECRL, as assigned by the Company.

Requirements

• 1. Malaysian citizen holding a valid MyKad.
• 2. Bachelor's degree or above in a construction-related discipline. The degree must be recognized by the Malaysian Government or CIDB. Acceptable disciplines are as follows:
  A. Power supply: Electrical Engineering (Kejuruteraan Elektrik), Electrical and Electronic Engineering (Kejuruteraan Elektrik & Elektronik), or Electrical Power Engineering.
  B. Telecommunications: Telecommunications Engineering (Kejuruteraan Telekomunikasi), Electronic and Communication Engineering, Electrical & Telecommunication Engineering, or Engineering (Communication).
  C. Signalling: Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering (Kejuruteraan Elektrik & Elektronik), or Electronic and Communication Engineering.
• 3. More than five years of relevant experience in the construction industry. Experience with a multinational company (MNC) on major infrastructure, railway or rail-transit projects in Malaysia is preferred.
• 4. Good communication, coordination and teamwork skills.
• 5. Able to work in English and Malay; proficiency in Mandarin is preferred to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.
