Job summary

Jaya Grocer, an affiliate of Grab, is building a strong e-commerce team in Malaysia to deliver on our omnichannel vision. We are looking for a Business Development Manager to drive supplier monetisation across our platforms by forging strategic partnerships with FMCG brands and suppliers, and securing funding for e-commerce campaigns.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, expand online-exclusive listings, and identify new revenue opportunities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Business Administration, Marketing or relevant field.
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience as an E-commerce Business Development Manager (Sales & Marketing, FMCG).
  • Experience dealing with FMCG suppliers/brands.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written to effectively convey ideas and collaborate with team members.
  • Project management skills with the ability to coordinate stakeholders across the company.

Responsibilities

  • Drive and maintain end-to-end eCommerce supplier monetisation pipeline (track deal stages, follow-ups, PICs, and target launch timelines/statuses).
  • Build and deliver the commercial pitch packages to FMCGs & suppliers. Negotiate and manage the eCommerce commercials & delivery constraints for campaigns (targets/margins, SLA/process readiness).
  • Drive co-funding campaign execution by collaborating with demand gen teams, managing supplier inputs, and coordinating with internal teams on alignment.
  • Expand revenue via new commercial formats (not limited to online exclusive listings).
  • Coordinate cross-functional alignment (Merchandising, Marketing, etc) to keep deals moving.
  • Define success metrics and close the loop on post-campaign learnings (e.g., online-exclusive pilots: increase in sessions & GMV).

Get to know the role:

The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving supplier monetization across Jaya Grocer's e-commerce platforms by building strategic partnerships with FMCG brands and suppliers. The role focuses on securing funding for e-commerce campaigns, expanding online-exclusive listings, developing commercial monetization packages, and identifying new revenue opportunities. Working closely with cross-functional stakeholders, this position plays a key role in accelerating commercial growth and executing impactful co-funded initiatives. Operating in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, the role requires strong commercial acumen, adaptability, and a continuous learning mindset. Expectations as follows:

You should have:
  • A Bachelor's degree or above i Business Administration, Marketing or any relevant field.
  • 3 or more years of relevant work experience as a E-commerce Business Development Manager preferably in FMCG/retail sector (Sales & Marketing, FMCG)
  • Experience dealing with FMCG suppliers/brands.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written to effectively convey ideas and collaborate with team members.
  • Project management skills, with the ability to coordinate stakeholders throughout the company and levels of seniority.
  • Intermediate Excel skills are a plus.
  • Sales or Business Development experience in e-commerce.
