Job summary

Hong Poh Engineering Construction Sdn. Bhd. in Penang seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to deliver design, calculations, tender prep and project coordination across construction projects in a main contractor environment.

You will prepare drawings in AutoCAD, contribute to technical submissions and support budgeting, with BIM knowledge seen as a plus.

Degree in Mechanical Engineering required; strong analytical and coordination skills; construction experience is welcomed.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Proficient in AutoCAD; BIM knowledge is an added advantage.
• Good understanding of mechanical engineering design and calculations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and coordination skills.
• Detail-oriented, eager to learn and able to meet project deadlines.
• Relevant construction experience will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical engineering design, calculations and technical analysis.
• Prepare design drawings using AutoCAD and other relevant design tools.
• Prepare technical submissions, reports and design documentation.
• Support tendering, costing, BOM, quotations and project budgeting.
• Assist in mechanical equipment selection and system sizing.
• Coordinate with project/site teams, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Monitor project costs, progress and design deliverables.
