Job summary

The Draughtsman role in Jora Malaysia focuses on producing precise 2D technical and shop drawings for store developments, renovations, and refurbishment projects. You will work with the Project Manager and Interior Designer to translate concepts into construction drawings.

Key duties include updating drawings from site measurements, coordinating submissions with consultants and contractors, and maintaining revision control to meet project timelines. Proficiency in AutoCAD is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Certificate in Drafting, Architecture, Interior Design, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years drafting experience in interior fit-out, retail, commercial, or construction projects.
• Proficient in AutoCAD (mandatory).
• Good understanding of construction methods, materials, and detailing.
• Ability to interpret architectural, M&E, and structural drawings.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good technical and spatial visualization skills.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
• Able to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed 2D technical drawings, shop drawings, and as-built drawings using AutoCAD or other drafting software.
• Produce layout plans, floor plans, elevations, sections, reflected ceiling plans, and construction details.
• Update drawings based on site measurements, design revisions, and project requirements.
• Ensure all drawings are accurate, complete, and issued according to project timelines.
• Work closely with the Project Manager and Interior Designer to translate design concepts into construction drawings.
• Coordinate drawing submissions with consultants, contractors, suppliers, and relevant internal departments.
• Review contractor shop drawings and ensure compliance with company requirements.
• Conduct site measurements and verify dimensions before preparing drawings.
• Maintain proper filing and revision control of all project drawings.
• Prepare as-built drawings upon project completion.
