Job summary

Sunray Construction & Interior Sdn Bhd in Johor Bahru is seeking an AutoCAD Drafter with strong shop drawing experience for interior fit-out projects. You will report to the Design Manager and collaborate with project and design teams to produce timely drawings for submission.

The role requires 3–5 years in related field, proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit, and keen attention to detail. Location is Johor Bahru City Centre with on-site work.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Drafting or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of related field experience.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD and Revit.
• Strong technical drawing and joinery drawing skills (advantage).
• Ability to interpret complex sketches and diagrams.
• Knowledge of construction standards and regulations.
• Proactive, eager to learn and take ownership.

Responsibilities

• Produce shop drawings and detailed construction issues per design requests.
• Follow drawing development as required by the project.
• Prepare accurate drawings from oral instructions and sketches for approval.
• Update drawings to reflect consultant/client changes.
• Ensure drawings comply with specs and local codes.
• Index, file, and store drawings in hardcopy and electronic media.
• Manage multiple projects with timely delivery.

At Sunray Construction & Interior Sdn Bhd, we specialise in small to large scale interior fit-out projects and currently have a footprint in three states including Kuala Lumpur, Penang, and Johor Bahru. You will work with a great team of seasoned professional colleagues and exposed to a variety of projects, such as hospitality, commercial offices, healthcare, and tower refurbishment.

We are currently looking for AutoCAD Drafter in Johor Bahru with strong experience in shop drawing for interior fit-out projects. You will report to the Design Manager, and work closely with the project and design team to ensure production and submission of accurate drawings in a timely manner.

Location: Johor Bahru City Centre

Job Descriptions:

• Responsible for production of shop drawings and detailed construction issues as design request;
• To follow drawing development required by the project;
• Prepares drawings accurately from oral instructions, rough sketches and notes, calculations, dimensions to develop relevant shop drawing for approval;
• Maintains, updates and makes amendments to drawings all time as correspondences from consultant/ client;
• Analyses and interprets changes to drawings and update to latest all time;
• Ensures the drawings comply with specifications and local compliance code;
• Understands the project scope and requirements in the preparation of detailed shop drawings ensuring that the drawings are easily understood by the project teams;
• Ensures the proper indexing, filing and storage of drawings in both hardcopy and electronic media;
• Manages multiple projects concurrently and accurately in a timely manner through workload prioritisation;
• Consults with key personnel in the project planning for shop drawing submission schedule;
• Studies drawings and other pertinent papers in shop drawing preparation and discuss with key personnel;
• Ensures that all materials are detailed and accounted for in shop drawing preparation;
• Explains drawings to project teams and provide adjustments as necessary;

Job Requirement:

• Diploma or Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Drafting or equivalent.
• At least 3-5 years working experience in the related field.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
• Strong technical drawing skills and attention to detail. Strong experience in joinery drawing will be added advantage.
• Can interpret complex technical sketches and diagrams.
• Knowledge of construction industry standards and regulations and familiarity with construction method.
• Proactive attitude, willingness to learn and take ownership of work.
