Job summary

Dpstar Thermo Control Electric Sdn Bhd is seeking a Mechanical CAD Drafter to create and update detailed 2D drawings and 3D models for heating equipment and mechanical assemblies. You will convert sketches into accurate CAD models and prepare fabrication drawings and BOMs.

Fresh graduates welcome; 2–3 years preferred. Proficient in AutoCAD (2D) and Autodesk Inventor (3D); SolidWorks a plus. You will verify tolerances, GD&T, and maintain document control for shop floor use.

Qualifications

• AutoCAD (2D) and Autodesk Inventor proficiency required.
• Fresh graduates welcome; 2–3 years drafting experience preferred.
• SolidWorks or other 3D CAD knowledge a plus.

Job description

Create, update, and modify detailed 2D technical drawings and 3D models for industrial heating equipment, fabrication structures, and mechanical assemblies.

Prepare fabrication drawings, assembly layouts, bills of materials (BOM), and exploded-view diagrams for manufacturing.

Work closely with mechanical and project engineers to convert preliminary sketches and specifications into accurate CAD models.

Verify drawing dimensions, tolerances, material specs, and design feasibility against shop floor capabilities and project requirements.

Maintain a structured CAD file archive, drawing revision histories, and technical document control standards.

Provide updated engineering drawings to factory supervisors and production floor teams for fabrication and assembly.

Requirements

Certificate, Diploma, or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting / CAD Technology, or a related field.

Fresh Graduates are welcome to apply; candidates with up to 2 to 3 years of drafting/design experience in a manufacturing environment are preferred.

Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D) and Autodesk Inventor (3D modeling) is required.

Knowledge of SolidWorks or other 3D CAD software is an added advantage.

Strong ability to interpret engineering schematics, geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T), and shop layout drawings.

Practical understanding of sheet metal fabrication, machining processes, or mechanical structure designs.

High accuracy, strong spatial awareness, and good team collaboration skills.
