Job summary

AIA Shared Services is seeking an experienced Storage & Backup Management leader in Kuala Lumpur. You will design and oversee on-prem storage, backup, and disaster recovery strategies, guiding a team to ensure high availability and data protection across regional units.

The role requires 10+ years in storage/backup with at least 5 years in management, plus a IT degree. You will collaborate with IT, security, and legal teams to optimise performance and cost while aligning with business priorities.

Qualifications

10+ years of relevant experience with at least 5 years in a managerial position with regional coverage
Hands-on experience with storage and backup components
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related discipline

Responsibilities

Strategic planning and leadership for on-prem storage infrastructure and backup solutions
Oversee deployment, maintenance, and performance of storage systems (SAN/NAS) and backup tooling
Lead vendor relationships and evaluate new storage/backup technologies
Design and implement robust disaster recovery and data protection strategies
Monitor performance, utilisation, and incidents; report to senior management
Manage budgets and resources for storage and backup initiatives
