Flextronics Technology (Penang) Sdn Bhd in Batu Kawan, Penang seeks a Director, Material Operations of Warehouse/Logistics to lead end-to-end materials flow for manufacturing operations and to partner with global supply chains to deliver material availability and cost efficiency.

You will direct sourcing strategies, oversee procurement, inventory control, planning and quality control of production materials, and collaborate with Finance and executives to optimize carrying costs and supplier

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 12 years of materials management experience.
• Lean Supply Chain training desired.
• Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Guide and direct sourcing strategies and supply chain management best practices.
• Plan and implement procurement, inventory control, planning and quality control of production materials.
• Work with sub-ordinates to implement global strategies and policies.
• Develop and maintain material control policies and metrics to reduce costs and streamline procedures.
• Establish relationships with suppliers to ensure material availability and optimal inventory levels.
• Coordinate with Global Commodity management on sourcing strategies and supplier risk.

Job Summary

Flex intends to spin off its Cloud and Power Infrastructure segment into a new, independent publicly traded company, Axiom, with the spin planned for Q1 2027. If the intended spin occurs, this role will support Axiom, a company focused on critical digital infrastructure and delivering end-to-end power and thermal management solutions for AI data centers and other mission-critical applications.

Summary:

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Materials Planning Senior Director located inBatu Kawan, Penang.

Working closely with the management teams within the Materials segment, in charge of directing and guiding the implementation of strategies and tactical execution for efficient and cost-effective materials flow to deliver the maximum advantage to the business (segment) and customers.

What a typical day looks like:

• Guide and direct sourcing teams in identifying, communicating and implementing sourcing strategies and supply chain management best practice.
• Plan and implement activities related to the timely and cost-effective procurement, inventory control, planning and quality control of production materials.
• Work closely with sub-ordinates to ensure global strategies and policies are effectively developed, communicated and implemented driving best practices.
• Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures, material control systems and metrics to reduce costs, streamline procedures and implement solutions.
• Establish successful relationships with suppliers on a country, regional or global basis to ensure the availability of materials in the supply chain as scheduled and the maintenance of inventory at minimum acceptable levels.
• Work with the Global Commodity management and strategic supply chain management teams on sourcing strategies including supplier selection, risk research and capacity management.
• Coordinate with Finance on matters involving inventory carrying costs and review and plan requirements for acceptable inventory.
• Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
• Regularly interact with executives and major clients which may result in influencing and/or persuading customer negotiations.
• Implement appropriate HR strategies and actions to recruit and retain a qualified and motivated workforce.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree.
• Typically requires 12 years of experience in materials management.
• Lean Supply Chain training desired.
• Preference Master’s degree in related field.
