Flextronics Technology (Penang) Sdn Bhd is seeking an Assistant Manager, Logistics to oversee daily distribution operations from Prai, Penang. You will direct shipping, receiving, and inventory control while driving efficiency and cost controls across the warehousing function.

The role requires collaboration with production planning and other departments to meet schedules and customer requirements in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Master’s degree preferred.
• Typically requires 3-5 years of distribution, warehousing or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Directs the daily activities of the distribution function (shipping, receiving, inventory control).
• Generates warehouse productivity reports (selection, receiving rates) and tracks labor hours.
• Ensures adherence to budget and helps meet company targets.
• Coordinates with planning and production to expedite schedules and material plans.
• Maintains inventory accuracy and ensures materials and finished goods meet customer requirements.
• Maintains warehouse safety programs and maintenance of equipment.

Job Summary

Flex intends to spin off its Cloud and Power Infrastructure segment into a new, independent publicly traded company, Axiom, with the spin planned for Q1 2027. If the intended spin occurs, this role will support Axiom, a company focused on critical digital infrastructure and delivering end-to-end power and thermal management solutions for AI data centers and other mission-critical applications.

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add an Assistant Manager, Logistics located in Prai, Penang.

Ensures the implementation of strategies, including supply chain activities to ensure the logistics function achieves its operational and organizational targets in order to create and sustain value for the business and its customers.

What a typical day looks like:

• Directs the daily activities of the distribution function, activities include shipping, receiving, inventory control, etc.
• Generates warehouse productivity reports, in regard to selection rates, receiving rates and accounts for all labor hours.
• Adheres to budget requirements and works toward obtaining goals.
• Ensures contribution between relevant operational departments to ensure production schedules are expedited in a timely manner and that the planning team is helped with regard to work and material schedules.
• Ensures that there is continuous improvement to standard logistics process, such as replenishment, data interchange systems, demand management, electronic data systems administration and related functions and all are effectively implemented as appropriate.
• Builds and maintains relationships with strategic customers through logistics initiatives and resolve customer / operational issues.
• Acts as escalation to senior management as appropriate.
• Ensures the team is helped with regards to material requisitioning and production planning.
• Maintains material availability to meet production schedules and/or to ensure products are shipped per customer requirements.
• Ensures materials are received from proper vendors, delivered to inventory and finished goods, and packaged according to specification.
• Ensures provision of all planning related required reporting and present reports or information to senior management as required.
• Contributes with department managers on planning related matters, to devise new strategies in relation to inventory management and distribution.
• Participates, coordinates and provides information and recommendations on various programs or projects, e.g. work simplifications, cost reductions, job training, storage area layout, plant material move routes and procedures, wage administration, communication, etc.
• Ensures the maintenance of warehouse equipment, providing both preventive maintenance programs and all necessary repairs.
• Recommends equipment requirements and replacements in order to upgrade and maintain warehouse productivity and efficiency.
• Ensures warehouse safety programs in order to provide a safe and clean workplace for employees and within the regulations of all OSHA local and state regulations.
• Implements appropriate HR Strategies and actions to recruit and retain a qualified and motivated workforce.
