Job summary

Segi Fresh seeks a digital transformation professional to drive adoption of retail technology across stores, HQ and distribution centres. You will assess technologies, engage vendors and guide POC/pilot projects to deliver measurable business benefits.

The role emphasizes governance, ROI-focused evaluation and seamless knowledge transfer to IT/BAU teams. Growth opportunities are tied to expanding fresh-food retail innovation across Malaysia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Business, Engineering, Digital Transformation or a related field.
• 3–6 years of experience in digital transformation, retail technology, IT solutions, business analysis, innovation or related areas.
• Experience in retail, grocery, FMCG, logistics or multi-site operations is highly preferred.
• Experience in technology evaluation, vendor management or POC/pilot projects is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Keep updated on local and global retail technology trends.
• Identify new technology, hardware, software and IoT solutions to improve store, HQ and DC operations.
• Research and engage technology vendors and solution providers.
• Explore emerging technologies such as AI, automation, IoT, computer vision, self-service and analytics.
• Evaluate technology solutions based on business benefits, cost, scalability, integration and ROI.
• Coordinate vendor demos, solution comparisons and POC/pilot assessments.
• Work with IT and business teams to assess solutions and provide recommendations.
• Prepare business cases covering efficiency, manpower, customer experience, data accuracy and cost savings.
• Lead POC, pilot and rollout of selected technology solutions across stores, HQ and DC.
• Coordinate with vendors, IT and business teams to ensure smooth implementation.
• Ensure proper training, documentation and knowledge transfer.
• Monitor implementation performance and ensure smooth handover to the IT/BAU team.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, customer experience, productivity and data accuracy.
• Track and measure business benefits after implementation.
• Keep management updated on new technology trends and opportunities.
• Maintain a pipeline of future digital transformation and automation initiatives.

Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, Business, Engineering, Digital Transformation or a related field.

3–6 years of experience in digital transformation, retail technology, IT solutions, business analysis, innovation or related areas.

Experience in retail, grocery, FMCG, logistics or multi-site operations is highly preferred.

Experience in technology evaluation, vendor management or POC/pilot projects is an advantage.

Knowledge & Skills:

Good understanding of retail technology, digital transformation and emerging technologies.

Knowledge of both hardware/IoT and software solutions.

Understanding of POS, RMS, WMS, HHT and retail store operations is an advantage.

Knowledge of AI, automation, data and analytics is an added advantage.

Currently office based Kelana Business Centre, Petaling Jaya (near to Glenmarie LRT station)

Moving to Wisma Segi office at Kampung Melayu Subang, Shah Alam Q1-Q3 2027.
