Job summary

KPJ Healthcare Berhad seeks a dedicated cook/canteen staff in Kuala Lumpur to prepare nutritious meals for patients and staff, ensuring quality, safety and timely delivery. You will manage food portions, plate presentation and daily kitchen operations according to hospital dietary standards.

The role requires 2 years of cook experience, SPM or equivalent, and knowledge of hospital dietary services. Training in culinary arts is an advantage, with a focus on teamwork and high sanitation standards.

Qualifications

• SPM or equivalent; culinary/cook training is a plus.
• 2 years’ experience as cook or cook assistant.
• Familiarity with hospital dietary services.
• Strong culinary skills and knowledge of cuisine.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food items by ensuring both quality and quantity.
• Arrange food neatly on plates and platters.
• Assemble portions in accordance with the menu.
• Store and rotate food safely in storage.
• Dispose of expired products and record accordingly.
• Deliver meals to patient rooms and collect trays on time.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness per sanitation guidelines.
• Inspect food and equipment regularly for safety.
• Assist with food prep for catering projects.
• Report kitchen malfunctions to supervisor promptly.
