Job summary

Cognizant in Malaysia is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join our Core Banking Technology team, supporting payment and remittance solutions on the AS400 platform. The role requires strong RPG development skills and a solid understanding of core banking payment systems within a regulated environment.

The successful candidate will design, develop, test, and support Core Banking applications on AS400, collaborate with BAs, solution architects, and QA teams, and ensure system stability,

Qualifications

6–9 years of hands-on AS400 development experience.
Proficient in RPG development and DB2 on AS400.
Experience with Local Payments and Bill Payment systems.
Knowledge of secure coding practices in banking environments.
Ability to perform code reviews and ensure coding standards are met.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, implement, and support Core Banking applications on the AS400 platform.
Develop and maintain Local Payment and Bill Payment functionalities with stability and performance.
Collaborate with Business Analysts, Solution Architects, QA teams, and stakeholders to deliver solutions.
