Job summary

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Proven experience in electrical and mechanical design.
• Proficiency in CAD tools, especially AutoCAD and SolidWorks.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and optimise electrical and electronic circuits, systems and components in accordance with technical specifications.
• Create detailed design documentation, including schematics, circuit diagrams, BOMs and assembly drawings.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design-to-production handover.
• Complete formwork drawings to meet production deadlines.
• Identify and troubleshoot design defects and implement corrective actions.
• Provide technical support during manufacturing and testing phases.
• Maintain and safeguard product drawings.

About the role

U-Teknik Trading Sdn Bhd is seeking a talented Design Engineer to join our engineering team in Bukit Minyak, Penang. This is a full-time position based at our Penang office. As a Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing innovative electrical and electronic solutions that drive our business forward. You will be responsible for translating technical requirements into practical, cost-effective designs whilst maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety. This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects that make a tangible impact across various industries and applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and optimise electrical and electronic circuits, systems and components in accordance with technical specifications and industry standards from client or sketch copy of drawing from Project personnel.
• Create detailed design documentation, including schematics, circuit diagrams, bill of materials and assembly drawings using CAD software and design tools
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project managers, manufacturing specialists and quality assurance personnel to ensure seamless transition from design to production
• Completion of formwork drawings to meet deadline of production schedule.
• Identify and troubleshoot design defects, inefficiencies and failures, implementing corrective actions as required
• Provide technical support during manufacturing and testing phases, addressing design-related issues as they arise
• Maintain and safeguard product drawing.

What we're looking for

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
• Proven experience in electrical and mechanical design, preferably in product development or systems engineering
• Strong understanding computer drawing skill of AutoCAD ( CAD ) & Solidworks software.
• Strong knowledge of circuit design principles, component selection and manufacturing processes
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical skills
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively within team environments
• Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work
• Highly adaptable, self-motivated and team player.
• 1-2 year experience (Fresh graduate is encouraged to apply)
