Job summary

Pivotal Systems (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd in Kedah seeks a Mechanical Engineer to design and develop CNC jigs and fixtures, review drawings, and collaborate with CNC programmers and production teams to meet process requirements.

You will optimize fixtures for productivity, support NPI, ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, prepare drawings and BOM, and work with vendors for fabrication and maintenance while driving cost reductions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical/manufacturing engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in CNC machining/manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD or ZW3D.
• Strong understanding of CNC machining processes and tooling.
• Knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawing interpretation.
• Familiar with fixture design principles (locating, clamping, datum control).
• Exposure to CAM/CNC programming is an advantage.
• Good communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English; Mandarin to communicate with diverse clients and stakeholders.
• Able to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop CNC jigs and fixtures to support machining processes (milling, turning, drilling, etc.).
• Review product drawings and machining requirements to create suitable fixturing solutions.
• Collaborate with CNC programmers and production team to ensure fixtures meet process requirements.
• Improve existing jigs and fixtures to enhance productivity, reduce cycle time, and improve quality.
• Conduct feasibility studies and provide technical input during new product introduction (NPI).
• Support troubleshooting of machining issues related to fixturing and workholding.
• Ensure all designs comply with safety, quality, and ergonomic standards.
• Prepare technical drawings, BOM, and documentation for fabrication and assembly.
• Work with vendors and internal teams for fabrication, modification, and maintenance of fixtures.
• Monitor fixture performance and implement preventive maintenance plans.
• Drive cost reduction initiatives through design optimization and standardization.
• Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the immediate superior from time to time.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.

3–5 years of experience in CNC machining / manufacturing environment.

Experience in NPI / product engineering is an added advantage.

Proficient in CAD software (SolidWorks / AutoCAD / ZW3D)

Strong understanding of CNC machining processes and tooling
