Job summary

IHH HealthCare Malaysia is seeking a BI professional to design, build, and optimize enterprise dashboards and data pipelines. You will translate complex business requirements into clear, data-driven visuals used across hospitals and corporate functions.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong hands-on Power BI development experience is essential.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and data modelling.
• Experience with data pipelines, ETL/ELT, and enterprise data platforms is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, KPIs, and data visualizations using Power BI.
• Develop and optimize data models, DAX measures, Power Query transformations, and semantic models.

• Manage end-to-end BI development lifecycle from requirements to deployment and maintenance.

Job description

Business Intelligence & Power BI (approximately 70%)

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, KPIs, and data visualizations primarily using Microsoft Power BI.
• Develop and optimize data models, DAX measures, Power Query transformations, and semantic models to support scalable and high-performing BI solutions.
• Translate business and operational requirements into effective dashboard designs and analytical solutions.
• Manage the end-to-end BI development lifecycle, including requirement gathering, development, testing, deployment, enhancement, and ongoing maintenance.
• Optimize dashboard performance and troubleshoot data, model, and visualization issues.
• Develop standardized KPI definitions and reporting methodologies across hospitals and corporate functions.
• Conduct training and engagement sessions with end-users to improve dashboard adoption and effective use of data.
• Work closely with business stakeholders to translate analytical findings into actionable insights and operational improvement opportunities.
• Build familiarity with Databricks AI/BI and related capabilities, and support the potential migration or redevelopment of BI solutions on Databricks

Data Analytics & Data Pipeline (approximately 30%)

• Perform exploratory, ad-hoc, and deep-dive data analysis to identify trends, root causes, and business opportunities.
• Extract, transform, and analyse structured and semi-structured datasets using SQL and other analytical tools.
• Support development and maintenance of scalable data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and enterprise data platforms using Databricks and Apache Spark.
• Assist in data discovery, integration, and provisioning into enterprise data warehouse environments to support analytics and AI use cases.
• Work with IT and data teams to ensure reliable data flow from source systems into enterprise data platforms and BI solutions.

Process, Governance & Stakeholder Management

• Ensure compliance with data governance, AI governance, security, and responsible AI standards.
• Maintain documentation for data, models, prompts, and reporting solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to drive successful implementation of AI, analytics, and BI initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field more than 5 years of relevant experience.
• Strong hands-on Power BI development experience is essential.
• Demonstrated experience developing enterprise dashboards from business requirement gathering through deployment and maintenance.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with data modelling and data transformation.
• Experience with data pipelines, ETL/ELT, and enterprise data platforms is preferred.
• Experience or strong familiarity with Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Azure, or similar modern data platforms is a significant advantage.
• Experience working with structured and semi-structured datasets.
• Experience in healthcare or service industry is an advantage.

Skills and Knowledge

• Advanced hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI is essential.
• Strong proficiency in DAX, Power Query, data modelling, semantic models, dashboard design, and performance optimization.
• Strong understanding of BI architecture and dashboard development best practices.

Data Analytics

• Strong proficiency in SQL and experience working with large and complex datasets.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable business insights.
• Experience in exploratory analysis, root-cause analysis, KPI development, and data storytelling.
• Good understanding of ETL/ELT pipelines, data integration, data warehousing, and dimensional modelling.
• Experience or strong familiarity with Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, or similar modern data platforms is a significant advantage.
• Interest and ability to develop capabilities in Databricks AI/BI and support future BI platform transition as the organization evolves its data architecture.
• Understanding of data quality, data validation, and data governance principles.
