Job summary

INITIA GROUP in Malaysia is seeking a Demi Chef to support Head Chef and Sous Chef in daily food preparation and production of high-quality dishes. You will assist with ingredient prep, cooking, plating, and maintaining kitchen standards while ensuring consistent, efficient service.

The role requires a Diploma or culinary qualification, teamwork, and flexibility to work shifts including weekends and public holidays. Staff meals, overseas training, and medical benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Diploma, Certificate, or relevant qualification from a culinary school is preferred.
• Previous kitchen or culinary experience is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.
• Ability to work well as part of a team and follow instructions.
• Good listening and communication skills.
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation practices.
• Willingness to learn and develop culinary skills.
• Available to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef, Sous Chef, and Chef de Partie in preparing and executing menu items.
• Prepare ingredients and ensure required items are available for daily kitchen operations.
• Follow recipes, preparation methods, and instructions provided by senior chefs.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene, and consistency.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and food hygiene standards.
• Assist with storage, handling, and organization of ingredients.
• Support the kitchen team in maintaining smooth cooking processes.
• Assist with plating and presentation of dishes according to established standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, equipment, and kitchen areas.
• Support kitchen productivity through efficient preparation and timely service.
